True or False?

“The church makes the rules (laws),
so the church can change the rules (laws).”

“Do not heed BY WHOM a thing is said, BUT rather WHAT IS SAID.” (Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P., Letter to Brother John; emphasis added.)

Preamble

“Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the Traditions
which you have been taught, whether by Word [oral Tradition]
or by Our letter [written Tradition - Scripture]” (2 Thessalonians 2:15).

The Statement of the Issue

“The church makes the rules (laws),
so the church can change the rules (laws).”

Did the Synod Vatican 2 “popes” take the Oath of Office to become a REAL Pope?

IF “NO”: THEY NEVER WERE A “POPE”!

http://www.traditionalcatholicmass.com/home-m15.html

IF “YES”, they AUTOMATICALLY  EXCOMMUNICATED THEMSELVES because:  “Oath of Pope-Elect”:  “I VOW: TO CHANGE NOTHING OF..TRADITION... or to permit any INNOVATION... We subject to SEVEREST EXCOMMUNICATION anyone - BE IT OURSELF  or be it another - who would... undertake anything NEW... OR WOULD SEEK TO CHANGE ANYTHING.” (Emphasis added.)

NOTEThis also means that the excuse:

"THEY make the rules, so THEY can change the rules" is totally falseTHEY have no power to make any rules, just as THEY have no power to change any rules - IF THEY try doing this, THEY become automatically excommunicated!

Preface

The philosophy of the NEW Theology, which has assumed the name of existentialism, repudiates all that is absolute, firm and immutable, because it is merely the Heresy of Modernism, repackaged as something different - but it is not. Let it not be forgotten that Truth per se is absolute, firm, and immutable.

“9. Just as it is the height of misfortune to go astray from the ‘Way,’ so is it to abandon the ‘Truth’. Christ Himself is the first, absolute and essential ‘Truth’, inasmuch as He is the Word of God, consubstantial and co-eternal with the Father, He and the Father being One. ‘I am the Way and the Truth.’ Wherefore if the Truth be sought by the human intellect, it must first of all submit it to Jesus Christ, and securely rest upon His teaching, since therein Truth itself speaketh”.   (Pope Leo XIII, Gioacchino Pecci [Wednesday, February 20, 1878 - Monday, July 20, 1903], Encyclical “Tametsi Futura Prospicientibus”, On Jesus Christ the Redeemer, Friday, November 1, 1900, ¶ 9; emphasis added.)

“6. ....And what is the principal and essential Truth, that from which all Truth is derived? It is God.”  (Pope Leo XIII, Gioacchino Pecci [Wednesday, February 20, 1878 - Monday, July 20, 1903], Encyclical “Au Milieu Des Sollicitudes”, On the Church and State in France, Tuesday, February 16, 1892, ¶ 6; emphasis added.)

“5. ...God is not only True, but Truth Itself” (Pope Leo XIII, Encyclical, “Æterni Patris”, On the Restoration of Christian Philosophy, Monday, August 4, 1879, ¶ 5; emphasis added).

“5. If anyone examines the state of affairs outside the Christian fold, he will easily discover the principal trends that not a few learned men are following. Some imprudently and indiscreetly hold that evolution, which has not been fully proved even in the domain of natural sciences, explains the origin of all this, and audaciously support the monistic and pantheistic opinion that the world is in continual evolution. Communists gladly subscribed to this opinion so that, when the souls of men have been deprived of every idea of a personal God, they may the more efficaciously defend and propagate their dialectical materialism.”

“6. Such fictitious tenets of evolution which repudiate all that is absolute, firm and immutable, have paved the way for the new erroneous philosophy which, rivaling idealism, immanentism and pragmatism, has assumed the name of existentialism, since it concerns itself only with existence of individual things and neglects all consideration of their immutable essences.”

“19. .....History teaches that many matters that formerly were open to discussion, no longer now admit of discussion....if the Supreme Pontiffs in their official documents purposely pass judgment on a matter up to that time under dispute, it is obvious that that matter, according to the mind and will of the same Pontiffs, cannot be any longer considered a question open to discussion among theologians.” (Pope Pius XII, Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli [b. at Rome, Kingdom of Italy on Thursday, March 2, 1876; Pope: Thursday, March 2, 1939 - d. at Castel Gandolfo, Italy on Thursday, October 9, 1958], Encyclical, “Humani Generis,” Some False Opinions that Threaten to Undermine the Foundations of Catholic Doctrine, Saturday, August 12, 1950, ¶¶ 5-6; 19-20; emphasis added.)

Summary of Our Analysis/Response

Because not everyone has the time to read the detailed analysis of the above Issue found below, and because not everyone is interested in details, but only the “bottom line”, We offer the following summary of Our detailed analysis of the Issue expressed in the above statement.

Our Brief Analysis of the Statement of this Issue in General - Part 1

This Statement is an excellent summary of the cynically, and ironically, UNCHANGEABLE dogmatic law of the Heresy of Modernism which is the uncompromising, and otherwise inflexible, unyielding, and unalterable, position, conviction, and certitude that the entire Deposit of Faith of the Catholic Church, including, but not limited to, all Dogmas and Doctrines of the Catholic Traditional Faith, all of the Authentic Apostolic Traditions preserved and taught by the Catholic Church which the Apostles received from Jesus Christ - God Incarnate, all of the Catholic Traditional Liturgical Rites for Offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Catholic Traditional Mass and Administering the Catholic Traditional Seven Sacraments, as well as all Laws of whatsoever kind, genus, and nature, etc., must be in a perpetual state of inherent change, of an intrinsic perpetual evolution!

Proof for Our Position

“12.  Consequently, the formulas which we call Dogma must be subject to these vicissitudes, and are, therefore, subject to change. Thus the way is open to the intrinsic evolution of dogma. Here we have an immense structure of sophisms which ruin and wreck all religion.

“13. Dogma is not only able, but ought to evolve and to be changed. This is strongly affirmed by the Modernists, and clearly flows from their principles.” (Pope Saint Pius X, Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto [b. at Riese, Lombardy-Venetia, Austrian Empire on Tuesday, June 2, 1835; Pope: Tuesday, August 4, 1903 - Thursday, August 20, 1914], Encyclical “Pascendi Dominici Gregis”, On the Doctrine of the Modernists, Sunday, September 8, 1907; ¶¶ 12-13; emphasis added).

Our Brief Analysis of the Statement of this Issue in General - Part 2

This Statement is also an excellent summary of the concomitant cynically, and ironically, UNCHANGEABLE dogmatic law of the Heresy of the NEW Theology which is the uncompromising, and otherwise inflexible, unyielding, and unalterable, position, conviction, and certitude that the entire Theology of the Catholic Church, including, but not limited to, all Dogmatic, Moral and other Theology - including Scholastic Theology, Thomistic Theology, etc., must be in a perpetual state of change per se, of constant change, of constant transmutation, of constant transformation!

Proof for Our Position

“There is a good deal of talk... about a NEW Theology, which must be in constant transformation...”  (Pope Pius XII, Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli [Thursday, March 2, 1939 - Thursday, October 9, 1958], L'Osservatore Romano, Thursday, December 19, 1946; emphasis added.)

Our Brief Analysis of the First Part of This Statement in General

The first part of this Statement of the Issue:  “The church makes the rules (laws)”.

This is very deceptive and obviously was originally set forth by either a Modernist Heretic or by a NEW Theology Theologian who deliberately ignored the requirements of Scholastic Philosophy. The first part of this statement contains a number of factual errors as well as at least five fallacies which, although said statement sounds good, it is not good and sound.

Bottom line:  “The church makes the rules (laws)” is NOT True.

Our Brief Analysis of the Second Part of This Statement in General

The second part of this Statement of the Issue:  “so the church can change the rules (laws)”.

This is also very deceptive and obviously was also originally set forth by either a Modernist Heretic and/or by a NEW Theology Theologian who deliberately ignored the requirements of Scholastic Philosophy.  The second and concluding part of this statement contains a number of factual errors as well as at least one fallacy which, although it sounds good, it is not good and sound.

Bottom line:  “so the church can change the rules (laws)” is NOT True.

Our Detailed Analysis/Response Concerning this Issue

“The church makes the rules (laws),
so the church can change the rules (laws).”

Our Position

Because anyone can say anything, some people prefer to have specific proof which is to be found in Our Detailed Analysis/Response in regard to the above Statement of the above Issue, if for no other reason than that the object of the intellect is Truth which simply means that it is natural for human nature to want to have proof that a certain argument is valid and does not violate the laws of logic, not to mention that which does not violate the laws of Absolute Truth.

Proof for Our Position

“The object of the intellect is something universal, namely, [an objective, universal quiddity] ‘being’ and [an objective, universal Truth] ‘the true’, in which the act also of understanding is comprised. Wherefore the intellect can understand its own act. But not primarily, since the first object of our intellect, in this state of life, is not every being and everything true, but [an objective, universal quiddity] ‘being’ and [an objective, universal Truth] ‘true’, as considered in material things, as we have said above (Q [84], A [7]), from which it acquires knowledge of all other things” (Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P., [b. 1225 A.D. in Rocca Secca, Naples, Italy - d. Wednesday, March 7, 1274 A.D. in Fossa Nuova, Italy], Doctor of the Church, “Summa Theologica”, Part I, Question 87, Article 3, Reply to Objection 1; emphasis added).

Our Noted Position

N.B.:  It should be noted that both Scholastic Theology and Thomistic Theology have been virtually, and probably physically, thrown into many trash bins, and/or into many bonfires, by both the Modernist Heretics and also by the NEW Theology Theologians whose hallmarks are not only the perpetual state of inherent change vis-à-vis intrinsic perpetual evolution, but also the perpetual state of change per se, of constant change, of constant transmutation, of constant transformation, which are all inimical of Truth at every virtual turn, as if the penumbra of error is a canonized and apotheosized Demon which attempts to make Christ’s warning to these miscreants:

“You are of your father the Devil, and the desires of your father you will do.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and he stood not in the Truth; because Truth is not in him.  When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own:  for he is a liar, and the father thereof.  But if I say the Truth, you believe me not” (John 8:44-45)

the most virulent type of wormwood in order to call “good” something “evil”, and “evil” something “good”; in order to call “Truth” to be “lies” and “lies” to be “Truth” which evil lies of the said Statement of the Issue is not in any sense!

Proof # 1 for Our Noted Position

“For in addition to those who, to the scandal of all Catholics, have given themselves over to the enemy, to add to our bitter sorrow We see some entering even into the study of Theology who, through a desire and passion for novelty “ever learning and never attaining to the knowledge of the Truth” [2 Timothy 3:7], are teachers of error, because they have not been Disciples of Truth.   In fact, they infect Sacred Studies with strange and unapproved doctrines, and they do not hesitate to profane even the office of teacher, if they hold a position in the schools and academies; they are known to falsify the most Sacred Deposit of Faith itself, while boasting that they are protecting it.”  (Pope Gregory XVI, Bartolomeo Alberto-Mauro-Cappellari [Wednesday, February 2, 1831 - Monday, June 1, 1846] the Brief “Dum Acerbissimas,” Saturday, September 26, 1835, #1619, page 406; emphasis added.)

Proof # 2 for Our Noted Position

“...there is no surer sign that a man is tending to Modernism than when he begins to show his dislike for the Scholastic method” (Pope Saint Pius X, Encyclical “Pascendi Dominici Gregis” - On the Doctrine of the Modernists - Sunday, September 8, 1907, ¶ 42).

Proof # 3 for Our Noted Position

“Surely it is lamentable that those eager for novelty easily pass from a contempt for Scholastic Theology to a neglect, and even a disrespect for the Magisterium of the Church, which supports that Theology by its authority. For, this Magisterium is considered by them as a hindrance to progress and an obstacle to science; indeed, by certain non-Catholics it is looked upon as an unjust restraint by which some learned theologians are prevented from pursuing their science. And, although this Sacred Magisterium, in matters of Faith and Morals, should be the proximate and universal norm of Faith to any theologian, inasmuch as Christ the Lord entrusted the entire Deposit of Faith to it, namely, the Sacred Scriptures and Divine Tradition, to be guarded, and preserved, and interpreted; yet its office, by which the faithful are bound to flee those errors which more or less tend toward heresy, and so, too, to keep its Constitutions and Decrees, by which such perverse opinions are proscribed and prohibited [CIC, Canon 1324; cf. Cone. Vat., D.B., 1820, Canst. De Fide Cath.  chapter 4; De Fide et ratione ~ post canones.], is sometimes ignored as if it did not exist.”  (Pope Pius XII, Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli [b. at Rome, Kingdom of Italy on Thursday, March 2, 1876; Pope: Thursday, March 2, 1939 - d. at Castel Gandolfo, Italy on Thursday, October 9, 1958], Encyclical, “Humani Generis,” Some False Opinions [of Modernist Heretics and of the Heretical NEW Theology Theologians who surfaced as periti - experts - who advised the Bishops at Synod Vatican 2] that Threaten to Undermine the Foundations of Catholic Doctrine, Saturday, August 12, 1950; emphasis added.)

Corollary # 1

“Be not led away with various and strange doctrines.  Jesus Christ yesterday, and today, and the same forever” (Hebrews 13:8-9; emphasis added.)

Corollary # 2

“1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be among you lying teachers, who shall bring in sects of perdition, and deny the Lord who bought them: bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their riotousnesses, through whom the way of Truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you. Whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their perdition slumbereth not” (2 Peter 2:1-3; emphasis added).

What Is Truth?

The Truths concerning the subject of Truth are torn to shreds and totally discarded by Modernist Heretics and the NEW Theology Theologians who do not believe nor understand what Truth really is because they fail to understand that God, Who is unchangeable - immutable, is Truth which makes Truth absolute and which means that Truth is immutable, per se, and that, therefore, Truth is incapable of any change of any kind.

Proof # 1 for Our Position

“I am the Way, and the Truth and the Life” (John 14:6; emphasis added).

Proof # 2 for Our Position

“I am the Lord and I change not”. (Malachias 3:6; emphasis added.)

Proof # 3 for Our Position

“God is immutable” (Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P., [b. 1225 A.D. in Rocca Secca, Naples, Italy - d. Wednesday, March 7, 1274 A.D., in Fossa Nuova, Italy], Doctor of the Church, “Summa Theologica”, Part I, Question 9, Article 1; emphasis added).

Proof # 4 for Our Position

“For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound Doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And will indeed turn away their hearing from the Truth, but will be turned unto fables” (2 Timothy 4:3-4; emphasis added).

Proof # 5 for Our Position

Truth is absolute - what is true today, is true tomorrow and for all eternity because “God is Truth” (Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P., “Summa Theologica” Part I, Question 16, Article 5; “Summa Theologica” Part II-II, Question 93, Article 2, Reply to Objection 2. “Summa Contra Gentiles” Book I, Chapter 60; emphasis added).

Proof # 6 for Our Position

“We can sum up all this Doctrine on the knowledge of God in the one profound statement: God is Truth. For Truth is in an intellect when that intellect knows a thing as it really is; Truth is in a thing, when it measures up to the intellect which caused it; God’s essence not only measures up to His intellect, it is His intellect; God's intellect not only knows His essence, it is His essence. This is the Immutable First Truth, the foundation of all other Truths. Every other Truth participates in this First Truth or ceases to be Truth: the world of reality as it measures up to the Divine Exemplar; created minds when, measuring up to the world of reality, they get a glimpse of the Divine Exemplar. When we touch upon Truth we are in the shadow of Divinity; when we embrace it, we are ennobled by the contact to a degree easily recognizable by all men. In the world of reason, love of Truth produces the philosopher; in the world of affairs it produces the Gentleman; in the world of Grace it produces the Saint. The respect given these men is the spontaneous tribute given to Divine Messengers. Humanity doffs its cap or makes its curtsey and goes its way with renewed hope; God is Truth” (Father Walter Farrell, O.P., S.T.D., S.T.M., [b. Chicago, Illinois on Tuesday, July 21,1902 A.D. -  d. River Forest, Illinois on Friday, November 23, 1951 A.D.], a Moral Theologian, Member of the Thomistic Institute, “A Companion to the Summa”, Volume 1, Chapter IV, The Vision of God; emphasis added).

“God is not only True, but Truth Itself” (Pope Leo XIII, Gioacchino Pecci [Wednesday, February 20, 1878 - Monday, July 20, 1903], Encyclical, “Æterni Patris”, On the Restoration of Christian Philosophy, Monday, August 4, 1879; emphasis added).

Corollary # 1

“But when the Paraclete [God the Holy Ghost] cometh, Whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth, Who proceedeth from the Father, He shall give testimony of Me” (John 15:26; emphasis added).

Corollary # 2

“But when He [God the Holy Ghost], the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will teach you all Truth” (John 16:13; emphasis added).

Corollary # 3

“Thy word is Truth” (John 17:14; emphasis added).  (Christ speaking to His Heavenly Father.)

Corollary # 4

“And it is the Spirit which testifieth, that Christ is the Truth” (1 John 5:6; emphasis added).

Corollary # 5

“Not only does he betray the Truth who transgresses against the Truth by openly speaking falsehood and not the Truth, but he also betrays it who does not openly speak the Truth, which must be openly proclaimed, or does not boldly defend it when it must be boldly defended” (Patriarch Saint John Chrysostom [b. Antioch, c. 347 A.D. - d. at Commana in Pontus on Friday, September 14, 407 A.D.], Patriarch of Constantinople [Thursday, February 26, 398 A.D. - Thursday, June 24, 404 A.D.], exiled from his See the 2nd time on Thursday, June 24, 404 A.D., Father and Doctor of the Catholic Church, “Cause” 11, Question 3, NOLITE; emphasis added).

Corollary # 6

“Truth cannot be Truth’s contrary” (Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P., “Summa Contra Gentiles”, Book IV, Chapter 8; emphasis added).  In other words, Truth does not contradict itself.

Corollary # 7

“Every knowledge of Truth is a kind of reflection and participation of the eternal law, which is the unchangeable Truth”  (Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P. “Summa Theologica”, Part I-II, Question 93, Article 2; emphasis added).

“The formal motive and object of Faith is first Truth as manifested in Holy Scripture and the Doctrine of the Church.  A person who does not commit himself to the Doctrine of the Church, as to a Divine and unerring rule proceeding from the first Truth as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, is without the Virtue of Faith; he assents to the Truths of Faith in some other manner”  (Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P., “Summa Theologica”, Part II-II, Question 53, Article 3; emphasis added).

Corollary # 8

“Moreover, since one Truth cannot contradict another Truth, every assertion contrary to the Truth of Faith, We define to be altogether false” (Eighteenth Œcumenical Council, the Fifth Lateran Council [Friday, April 19, 1512 A.D. - Friday, March 16, 1517 A.D.], Session 1, December 19, 1513; emphasis added).

Corollary # 9

“Every assertion contrary to the Truth of revealed Faith is altogether false, for the reason that it contradicts, however slightly, the Truth” Eighteenth Œcumenical Council, the Fifth Lateran Council, Papal Bulla “Apostolici Regiminis”; emphasis added).

Corollary # 10

“There is sufficient light for those who wish to see and sufficient obscurity for those who do not wish to see”  (Blaise Pascal [b. at Clermont-Ferrand, Monday, June 19, 1623 - d. in Paris, Saturday, August 19, 1662], “Pensées Sur La Religion”, Section VII,  Morality and Doctrine, ¶ 430, 1660 A.D.; emphasis added).

Our Detailed Analysis/Response

Prologue

For those who may object to the length of Our Analysis/Response, it should be remembered:

“It is a shorter thing and sooner done to write heresies than to answer them” (Sir Saint Thomas More, [b. at London, England in 1477 A.D. - d. martyred at Tower Hill, London, England, on Saturday, July 6, 1535 A.D.], “The Apology of Sir Thomas More”, April, 1533 A.D.).

Why Do We Do This?

First Proof

“These latter days have witnessed a notable increase in the number of the enemies of the Cross of Christ, who, by arts entirely new and full of deceit, are striving to destroy the vital energy of the Church, and, as far as in them lies, utterly to subvert the very Kingdom of Christ.”

“Wherefore, We may no longer keep silence, lest We should seem to fail in Our most Sacred Duty, and lest the kindness that, in the hope of wiser counsels, We have hitherto shown them, should be set down to lack of diligence in the discharge of Our Office.”  (Pope Saint Pius X, Giuseppe Sarto [Tuesday, August 4, 1903 - Thursday, August 20, 1914], Encyclical “Pascendi Dominici Gregis”, On the Doctrine of the Modernists, Sunday, September 8, 1907, ¶ 1; emphasis added.)

Second Proof

“25. .......There are to be found today, and in no small numbers, men, of whom the Apostle says that:

‘there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound Doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And will indeed turn away their hearing from the Truth, but will be turned unto fables.’ (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

“......Hence arose the monstrous errors of ‘Modernism,’ which Our Predecessor rightly declared to be ‘the synthesis of all heresies,’ and solemnly condemned. We hereby renew that condemnation in all its fulness, Venerable Brethren, and as the plague is not yet entirely stamped out, but lurks here and there in hidden places, We exhort all to be carefully on their guard against any contagion of the evil......

“Nor do We merely desire that Catholics should shrink from the errors of Modernism, but also from the tendencies or what is called the spirit of Modernism.  Those who are infected by that spirit develop a keen dislike for all that savours of antiquity and become eager searchers after novelties in everything: in the way in which they carry out religious functions, in the ruling of Catholic institutions, and even in private exercises of piety.

“Therefore it is Our will that the law of our forefathers should still be held sacred: ‘Let there be no innovation - nothing but what has been handed down’ (Pope Saint Stephen I [Friday, May 12, 254 - Sunday, August 2, 257], “Epistle to Africa”, quoted by Father Saint Vincent of Lerins [b. Toul, France, c. 400 A.D. - d. Island of Lerins, c. 450 A.D.], “A Commonitory [an aid to memory] for the Antiquity and Universality of the Catholic Faith Against the Profane Novelties of All Heresies,” Chapter VI, ¶ 16).”  (Pope Benedict XV, Giacomo Della Chiesa [Thursday, September 3, 1914 - Saturday, January 21, 1922], Encyclical Ad Beatissimi Apostolorum, Sunday, November 1, 1914, ¶ 25; emphasis added.)

Third Proof

“We are in conscience bound to embrace and follow the Doctrine which Christ Our Lord taught and which He solemnly commanded His Apostles and their Successors to teach (Matthew 28:19-20).” (Pope Pius XII, Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli [b. at Rome, Kingdom of Italy on Thursday, March 2, 1876; Pope: Thursday, March 2, 1939 - d. at Castel Gandolfo, Italy on Thursday, October 9, 1958], Encyclical, “Ad Sinarum Gentem,” Thursday, October 7, 1954; emphasis added.)

Fourth Proof

“In order to expose such snares, something which becomes necessary with a certain frequency in every Century, no other method is required than the following: Whenever it becomes necessary to expose statements which disguise some suspected error or danger under the veil of ambiguity, one must denounce the perverse meaning under which the error opposed to Catholic Truth is camouflaged.”  (Roman Catholic Pope Pius VI, Giovanni Angelo Braschi [Wednesday, February 15, 1775 - Thursday, August 29, 1799],  Encyclical “Auctorem Fidei,” Thursday, August 28, 1794, ¶ 6; emphasis added).

Fifth Proof

“It is your duty to protect the Holy Deposit of Faith and Sacred Doctrine. It is your duty to drive every profane reform far away from the Church....  Nothing should deter you from throwing yourselves into every conflict for the Glory of God, for the protection of the Church, and for the Salvation of the Souls entrusted to your care. Meditate on Him who endured a similar opposition from sinners. If you fear the daring of the wicked, remember that the decision is made concerning the strength of the Episcopacy and the Divine Power of governing the Church. So it only remains for you to remember the serious duties of your Office and the difficult judgment which hangs over everyone in authority.” (Pope Gregory XVI, Bartolomeo Alberto-Mauro-Cappellari [Wednesday, February 2, 1831 - Monday, June 1, 1846], Encyclical “Quo Graviora”, On the “Pragmatic Constitution”, Friday, October 4, 1833, ¶ 13; emphasis added.)

Sixth Proof

“He who discovers that others are in error, but fails to correct them, thereby testifies that he himself is in error.”  (Pope Saint Leo I [Saturday, September 29, 440 - Thursday, November 10, 461], Encyclical Letter XV [15], To Bishop Turibius, Bishop of Astorga, Spain, “On the Errors of the Priscillianists”, ¶ XVI [16], Sunday, July 21, 447 A.D.; emphasis added).

Seventh Proof

“It's a dumb dog that doesn't bark when the wolf is among the sheep” (Pope Saint Gregory I, the Great [Friday, September 3, 590 - Monday, March 12, 604], “Homily on Ezechiel”, 7).

Eighth Proof

“48. In Doctrina [In Doctrine].  In the face of the combined efforts of incredulity and heresy to bring about the ruin of the Catholic Faith, it would be a real crime for the Clergy  [Archbishops, Bishops and Priests]  to remain in a state of hesitancy and inactivity.  In such an outpouring of error and conflict of opinion, the Clergy  [Archbishops, Bishops and Priests]  must not be faithless to their mission  which is  to defend Dogma - when it is assaulted, Morality - when it is mocked, and Justice - which is frequently outraged.

“[To each Archbishop, Bishop and Priest it belongs] .. to make himself a road block to the attacks of error and the deceits of heresy; to watch the tactics of the wicked who war against the Faith....; to unmask the plots and to reveal the ambushes and traps; they must warn naive people, strengthen those who are timid, and open the eyes of the blinded.

“Superficial erudition, or merely common knowledge, will not suffice for all of this - there is the need for the solid, profound and continuous study  [by every Catholic Archbishop, Bishop, and Priest] of a massive amount of Doctrinal knowledge which must be sufficient to cope with the subtlety and remarkable cunning of our Modern opponents....”  (Pope Leo XIII, Gioacchino Vincenzo Pecci [Wednesday, February 20, 1878 - Monday, July 20, 1903], Encyclical “Depuis Le Jour”, On the Education of the Clergy, Friday, September 8, 1899, ¶ 48 “In Doctrina”; emphasis added.  Encyclical to the Archbishops, Bishops, and Clergy of France.)

Ninth Proof

“Heretical clerics and all who receive, defend, or favor them are ipso facto deprived of their benefices, offices, and ecclesiastical jurisdiction. The pope himself, if notoriously guilty of heresy, would cease to be pope because he would cease to be a member of the [Roman Catholic] Church.”  (“Catholic Encyclopedia”, Volume Seven: Gregory - Infallibility, Nihil Obstat, June 1, 1910, Remy Lafort, S.T.D., Censor, Imprimatur, John Cardinal Farley, Archbishop of New York, Article: “Heresy, VIII. Church Legislation on Heresy”,  page 261-b; emphasis added).

Tenth Proof

“Moreover, in order to check the daily increasing audacity of many Modernists who are endeavoring by all kinds of sophistry and devices to detract from the force and efficacy, not only of the Decree Lamentabili sane exitu (the so-called ‘Syllabus’), issued by Our order by the Holy Roman and Universal Inquisition on July 3 of the present year [1907], but also of Our Encyclical letter ‘Pascendi Dominici Gregis’, given on [Sunday] September 8 of this same year [1907],  We do by Our Apostolic Authority repeat and confirm  both that Decree of the Supreme Sacred Congregation and those Encyclical letters of Ours, adding the Penalty of Excommunication against their contradictors, and this We declare and Decree that should anybody, which may God forbid, be so rash as to defend any one of the propositions, opinions or teachings condemned in these documents he falls, ipso facto, under the censure contained under the chapter ‘Docentes’ of the Constitution ‘Apostolicae Sedis’, which is the first among the Excommunications latae sententiae [automatic Excommunication], simply reserved to the Roman Pontiff.

“This Excommunication is to be understood as salvis poenis, which may be incurred by those who have violated in any way the said documents, as propagators and defenders of heresies, when their propositions, opinions and teachings are heretical, as has happened more than once in the case of the adversaries of both these documents, especially when they advocate the errors of the Modernists that is, the synthesis of all heresies” (Pope Saint Pius X, Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto [Tuesday, August 4, 1903 - Thursday, August 20, 1914], Motu Proprio, “Præstantia Scripturæ Sacræ”, ¶ 5, Monday, November 18, 1907.  Automatic Excommunication of Heretics, especially the Heretics of the Heresy of Modernism; emphasis added).

Eleventh Proof

“Therefore, ‘heresy’ is so-called from the Greek word meaning ‘choice’, by which each chooses according to his own will what he pleases to teach or believe. But we are not permitted to believe whatever we choose, nor to choose whatever someone else has believed. We have the Apostles of God as authorities, who did not themselves of their own will choose what they would believe, but faithfully transmitted to the nations the teaching received from Christ.  So, even if ‘an Angel from Heaven’ should preach otherwise, he shall be called ‘anathema’ [Galatians 1:8]”  (Bishop Saint Isidore of Seville, Spain, [b. Cartagena, Spain 560 A.D. - d. Seville, Spain, 636 A.D.], Doctor of the Catholic Church, “Etymologies”, 8, 3; emphasis added).

The Statement of the Issue

First Repetition as a Courtesy

“The church makes the rules (laws),
so the church can change the rules (laws).”

Do You Know WHY This Statement IS WRONG?

It is a Presumptive Fallacy

The first part of this Statement merely PRESUMES something to be a fact, i.e. that ONLY “the church makes the rules (laws)”, but without providing any proof.

In other words, it is a presumptive fallacy because God has also made some rules (laws) which the Church, per se, as well as all of her members must obey and which rules (laws) of God continue to remain in effect, even today.

Therefore, because God’s laws are still in effect today, the Church does NOT have ABSOLUTE power to “make the rules (laws)” because the Church has only LIMITED power, authority, and jurisdiction to “make the rules (laws)”.

The phraseology - “The church makes the rules (laws)” - merely presumes the Church has ABSOLUTE, UNLIMITED power to make “the rules (laws)”.

Point # 1

On the contrary, this is simply not True because the Church has no power, authority, and/or jurisdiction to make any “rules (laws)” whatsoever which would attempt to try to nullify and/or invalidate and/or make illegal/illicit God’s laws.

Point # 2

Furthermore, this is simply not True because the church has no power, authority, or jurisdiction to make any “rules (laws)” whatsoever which would attempt to try to nullify and/or to invalidate and/or to make illegal/illicit pre-existing church laws which were issued “in perpetuity” as the result of those church laws which have been issued to safeguard the Deposit of Faith from innovators and anyone else who would be wont to change any non-disciplinary church rules (laws), including those which require total obedience by all under the penalty/censure of anathema!

Anathema

“ANATHEMA then appears as the more solemn form of pronouncing or declaring excommunication” (Rev. P. Charles Augustine Bachofen, O.S.B., D.D., Professor of Canon Law, “A Commentary on the New Code of Canon Law”, Volume 8, Canons 2255 & 2256, p. 170.)

“ANATHEMA:  A thing or person struck by God’s malediction and intended for ruin.  Cf. I Cor. 12:13; Rom. 9:3; Gal. l:8-9.  Anathema, in actual Church discipline, is the term used for IPSO FACTO [i.e. automatic] excommunication incurred by those denying a solemnly defined Truth, as is concluded principally from the Dogmatic Canons of the Synod of Trent and the Vatican Council, [i.e. Vatican 1].  (Parente, Piolanti, Garofalo, “Dictionary of Dogmatic Theology”, “Anathema”.)

Solemnly Defined Truths

Examples of Solemnly Defined Truths are found in the Dogmatic Canons of the Roman Catholic Council of Trent, including those on the Holy Sacrifice of the Catholic Traditional Mass, in opposition to the 16th Century Protestants who taught that the Mass is only a memorial supper meal.

Dogmatic Roman Catholic Council of Trent
Solemn Session 22
Monday, September 17, 1562, A.D.

Pope Pius IV Giovan Angelo De Medici
[Friday, December 25, 1559 - Thursday, December 9, 1565]

In Session 22 of the Roman Catholic Council of Trent, with the Roman Catholic Pope, Pope Pius IV presiding, which was held on Monday, September 17, 1562, A.D., the Council, in conjunction with Pope Pius IV, first taught what the Holy Sacrifice of the Catholic Traditional Mass is. These dogmatic Truths, because they are Truths, by the very nature of Truth itself, are immutable - unchangeable.

“What Truth can come from that which is false?”  (Ecclesiasticus  34:4).

“No lie is of the Truth”  (1 John 2:21).

“Truth cannot be Truth’s  contrary”  (Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P., [b. 1225 A.D. in Rocca Secca, Naples, Italy - d. Wednesday, March 7, 1274 A.D., in Fossa Nuova, Italy], Doctor of the Church,  Summa Contra Gentiles, Book 4, Chapter 8).

Then nine Canons, each of which was based on the unchangeable dogmatic Truths solemnly taught by the Pope with this Council, were issued with a penalty (censure) of anathema (automatic excommunication) attached to each Canon for those who would violate these laws in perpetuity because they were brief summaries of the unchangeable dogmatic Truths solemnly taught by the Pope with this Council expressed in legalistic terminology.  This is why the Church can never change any of these Canons:

Canons on the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

CANON I  If any one saith, that in the Mass a true and real Sacrifice is not offered to God; or, that to be offered is nothing else but that Christ is given us to eat; let him be anathema.

CANON II  If any one saith, that by those words, Do this for the commemoration of me (Luke xxii. 19), Christ did not institute the Apostles Priests; or, did not ordain that they, and other Priests should offer His own Body and Blood; let him be anathema.

CANON III  If any one saith, that the Sacrifice of the Mass is only a sacrifice of praise and of thanksgiving; or, that it is a bare commemoration of the Sacrifice consummated on the Cross, but not a propitiatory sacrifice; or, that it profits him only who receives; and that it ought not to be offered for the living and the dead for sins, pains, satisfactions, and other necessities; let him be anathema.

CANON IV  If any one saith, that, by the Sacrifice of the Mass, a blasphemy is cast upon the most Holy Sacrifice of Christ consummated on the Cross; or, that it is thereby derogated from; let him be anathema.

CANON V   If any one saith, that it is an imposture to celebrate Masses in honour of the saints, and for obtaining their intercession with God, as the Church intends; let him be anathema.

CANON VI   If any one saith, that the Canon of the Mass contains errors, and is therefore to be abrogated [abolished]; let him be anathema.

CANON VII   If any one saith, that the ceremonies, vestments, and outward signs, which the Catholic Church makes use of in the celebration of Masses, are incentives to impiety, rather than offices of piety; let him be anathema.

CANON VIII   If any one saith, that Masses, wherein the Priest alone communicates Sacramentally, are unlawful, and are, therefore, to be abrogated [abolished; let him be anathema.

CANON IX   If any one saith, that the Rite of the Roman Church, according to which a part of the Canon and the words of Consecration are pronounced in a low tone, is to be condemned; or, that the Mass ought to be celebrated in the vulgar tongue only; or, that water ought not to be mixed with the wine that is to be offered in the chalice, for that it is contrary to the institution of Christ; let him be anathema.

The First Part of this Statement is a Presumptive Fallacy

Therefore, the first part of this Statement, namely that “The church makes the rules (laws)”, is not only deliberately ambiguous, vague, and misleading, but it is also a Presumptive Fallacy, especially when its real motive is expressed by  the second part of this Statement, which is also its conclusion:  “so the church can change the rules (laws).”

Fallacies

What is a fallacy?  Among other things, a fallacy is any violation of a logical principle disguised under a show or pretext of validity.  It is also an argument which, while seemingly valid, really violates some logical principle.  The chief synonyms for fallacy are sophism and paralogism.

The Five Fallacies

The Statement “The church makes the rules (laws)” consists of at least five similar fallacies:

1.  The Presumptive Fallacy:

1.  The “presumptive fallacy” is a fallacy which simply presumes, supposes, postulates, pretends, assumes, and presupposes that the statement is True.

2.  The Gratuitous Expression Fallacy:
2.  The “gratuitous expression fallacy” is a fallacy by which “anyone can say anything” and not offer any proof for what is said.

3. The “Ipse Dixit” Fallacy:
3. The “ipse dixit fallacy” which means that “He, himself, said it.”  It is an arbitrary dogmatic statement which the speaker expects the listener to accept as being valid.

4.  The Bare Assertion Fallacy:
4.  The “bare assertion fallacy”.  The most basic way to distort an issue is to deny that it exists. This fallacy claims: “That’s just how it is.”
5.  The “Fiat Accompli” Fallacy:
5.  The “fiat accompli fallacy” defends a proposition by bluntly asserting it as being a “fiat accompli” - an “accomplished fact”; “a done deal”.  This distorts the argument by opting out of it entirely because the best way to distort any issue is to deny that issue ontologically, i.e. deny that the issue even exists - therefore, there is no issue because the issue is nonexistent.

The Statement of the Issue

Second Repetition as a Courtesy

“The church makes the rules (laws),
so the church can change the rules (laws).”

Do You Know WHAT IS WRONG with this Statement?

When you read this Statement, WHAT is wrong with this Statement?  In other words, WHAT is the primary issue, WHAT is the primary concern which it expresses?

In other words, WHAT is being emphasized?  WHAT is of the greatest importance?  WHAT is the most significant point it is stressing or trying to make?

The answer is in the second part of this Statement:  “...so the church can change the rules (laws).”

This statement is used by some Catholics in an attempt to legitimatize all of the changes of the changes of the never-ending changes to the Catholic Traditional Faith, Mass, and Sacraments by innovators and by those who want change for whatever reason(s), including change for the sake of change.

But is the second part of this Statement really something which the Roman Catholic Church teaches?

At face value, and at first read, this statement certainly sounds good, but it is not good and sound because it has several problems which are not obvious to the casual reader.

The First Problem - The Ultimate Cause

The first problem is that this Statement very cleverly and skillfully insinuates, suggests, implies, and hints that this is something which the Roman Catholic Church officially teaches.

On the contrary, this Statement is a very cleverly disguised element - ironically, the one and only “unchangeable dogma” - CHANGE - of the Heresy of Modernism, which has been “updated” vis-à-vis the Heresy of the NEW Theology, so that both of these heresies, which are likened to the twin heads of but one hideous demonic Devil, are the ultimate CAUSE of this first problem which diabolical Statement has been expertly camouflaged as “Traditional” so that it “sounds good”, but in reality, it is not “good and sound”.

So WHAT are the twin Heresies of Modernism and of the NEW Theology?

The Heresies of Modernism and of the NEW Theology

Whether or not this Statement was first developed by a Modernist Heretic or a NEW Theology Theologian is only speculation.  Nevertheless, it has the proverbial “fingerprints”, or hallmark, of the Heresies of Modernism and of the NEW Theology all over it.

It is ultimately a smokescreen, so to speak, or a cover, under which Dogmas, not “rules”, not “laws”, are the ultimate target of change.  To talk about changing laws is really nothing more than the psychobabble reminiscent of Paul 6, Giovanni Battista Enrico Antonio Maria Montini [b. at Concesio, Italy on Sunday, September 26, 1897; Pope:  Friday, June 21, 1963 - d. at Castel Gandolfo, Italy on Sunday, August 6, 1978] because it is really a coded language which object is to change the unchangeable Dogmas of the Catholic Church!

It is, first an foremost, not only an attempt to try to justify the “dogma of the Heresy of Modernism” - change - the evolution of dogmas - which Pope Saint Pius X, Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto [b. at Riese, Lombardy-Venetia, Austrian Empire on Tuesday, June 2, 1835; Pope: Tuesday, August 4, 1903 - Thursday, August 20, 1914], condemned in his Encyclical “Pascendi Dominici Gregis”, On the Doctrine of the Modernists, Sunday, September 8, 1907, but also the cult of change which is still prowling about seeking whom it might devour with its updated image which Pope Pius XII identified as a NEW Theology which is merely the Heresy of Modernism repackaged.

The Heresy of Modernism

First Proof

“...there is no surer sign that a man is tending to Modernism than when he begins to show his dislike for the Scholastic method” (Pope Saint Pius X, Encyclical “Pascendi Dominici Gregis” - On the Doctrine of the Modernists - Sunday, September 8, 1907, ¶ 42).

Second Proof

“38. It remains for Us now to say a few words about the Modernist as reformer. From all that has preceded, it is abundantly clear how great and how eager is the passion of such men for innovation.  In all Catholicism there is absolutely nothing on which it does not fasten. They wish Philosophy to be reformed, especially in the Ecclesiastical Seminaries. They wish the Scholastic Philosophy to be relegated to the History of Philosophy and to be classed among absolute systems, and the young men to be taught modern philosophy which alone is true and suited to the times in which we live. They desire the reform of Theology: rational theology is to have modern philosophy for its foundation, and positive theology is to be founded on the history of dogma. As for history, it must be written and taught only according to their methods and modern principles. Dogmas and their evolution, they affirm, are to be harmonized with science and history. In the Catechism no Dogmas are to be inserted except those that have been reformed and are within the capacity of the people. Regarding Worship, they say, the number of external Devotions is to he reduced, and steps must be taken to prevent their further increase, though, indeed, some of the admirers of symbolism are disposed to be more indulgent on this head. They cry out that ecclesiastical government requires to be reformed in all its branches, but especially in its disciplinary and dogmatic departments. They insist that both outwardly and inwardly it must be brought into harmony with the modern conscience which now wholly tends towards Democracy; a share in ecclesiastical government should therefore be given to the lower ranks of the Clergy and even to the Laity and authority which is too much concentrated should be decentralized....”  (Pope Saint Pius X, Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto [b. at Riese, Lombardy-Venetia, Austrian Empire on Tuesday, June 2, 1835; Pope: Tuesday, August 4, 1903 - Thursday, August 20, 1914], Encyclical “Pascendi Dominici Gregis”, On the Doctrine of the Modernists, Sunday, September 8, 1907, ¶ 38; emphasis added).

Third Proof

“25. .......There are to be found today, and in no small numbers, men, of whom the Apostle says that:

‘there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound Doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And will indeed turn away their hearing from the Truth, but will be turned unto fables.’ (2 Timothy 4:3-4).”

“......Hence arose the monstrous errors of ‘Modernism,’ which Our Predecessor rightly declared to be ‘the synthesis of all heresies,’ and solemnly condemned. We hereby renew that condemnation in all its fulness, Venerable Brethren, and as the plague is not yet entirely stamped out, but lurks here and there in hidden places, We exhort all to be carefully on their guard against any contagion of the evil......”

“Nor do We merely desire that Catholics should shrink from the errors of Modernism, but also from the tendencies or what is called the spirit of Modernism.  Those who are infected by that spirit develop a keen dislike for all that savours of antiquity and become eager searchers after novelties in everything: in the way in which they carry out religious functions, in the ruling of Catholic institutions, and even in private exercises of piety.”

450 A.D.], “A Commonitory [an aid to memory] for the Antiquity and Universality of the Catholic Faith Against the Profane Novelties of All Heresies,” Chapter VI, ¶ 16).”  (Pope Benedict XV, Giacomo Della Chiesa [Thursday, September 3, 1914 - Saturday, January 21, 1922], Encyclical “Ad Beatissimi Apostolorum”, Sunday, November 1, 1914, ¶ 25; emphasis added.)

The Heresy of the NEW Theology

First Proof

“There is a good deal of talk... about a NEW Theology, which must be in constant transformation...”  (Pope Pius XII, Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli [Thursday, March 2, 1939 - Thursday, October 9, 1958], “L'Osservatore Romano”, Thursday, December 19, 1946; emphasis added.)

The term “constant transformation” is merely another way of saying “evolution” which the “word manipulators” had to use to make “evolution” more acceptable.

Second Proof

It was against this NEW Theology and the NEW Theology Theologians that Pope Pius XII wrote his Encyclical, “Humani Generis,” Concerning Some False Opinions Threatening to Undermine the Foundations of Catholic Doctrine, Saturday, August 12, 1950.

“30.  For Truth and its philosophic expression cannot change from day to day, least of all where there is question of self-evident principles of the human mind or of those propositions which are supported by the wisdom of the ages and by Divine Revelation. Whatever new Truth the sincere human mind is able to find, certainly cannot be opposed to Truth already acquired, since God, the highest Truth, has created and guides the human intellect, not that it may daily oppose new Truths to rightly established ones, but rather that, having eliminated errors which may have crept in, it may build Truth upon Truth in the same order and structure that exist in reality, the Source of Truth.  Let no Christian therefore, whether philosopher or theologian, embrace eagerly and lightly whatever novelty happens to be thought up from day to day, but rather let him weigh it with painstaking care and a balanced judgment, lest he lose or corrupt the truth he already has, with grave danger and damage to his faith.”

“31. If one considers all this well, he will easily see why the Church demands that future priests be instructed in Philosophy ‘according to the method, doctrine, and principles of the Angelic Doctor,’[Footnote 8: Codex Iuris Canonici, Canon  1366, 2.] since, as we well know from the experience of centuries, the method of Aquinas is singularly preeminent both for teaching students and for bringing truth to light; his doctrine is in harmony with divine revelation, and is most effective both for safeguarding the foundation of the faith, and for reaping, safely and usefully, the fruits of sound progress. [Footnote 9:  A.A.S., Volume XXXVIII, 1946, p. 387.]”

“32. How deplorable it is then that this Philosophy, received and honored by the Church, is scorned by some, who shamelessly call it outmoded in form and rationalistic, as they say, in its method of thought. They say that this philosophy upholds the erroneous notion that there can be a metaphysic that is absolutely true; whereas in fact, they say, reality, especially transcendent reality, cannot better be expressed than by disparate teachings, which mutually complete each other, although they are in a way mutually opposed. Our Traditional Philosophy, then, with its clear exposition and solution of questions, its accurate definition of terms, its clear-cut distinctions, can be, they concede, useful as a preparation for Scholastic Theology, a preparation quite in accord with medieval mentality; but this Philosophy hardly offers a method of philosophizing suited to the needs of our modern culture. They allege, finally, that our Perennial Philosophy is only a philosophy of immutable essences, while the contemporary mind must look to the existence of things and to life, which is ever in flux. While scorning our Philosophy, they extol other philosophies of all kinds, ancient and modern, oriental and occidental, by which they seem to imply that any kind of philosophy or theory, with a few additions and corrections if need be, can be reconciled with Catholic Dogma. No Catholic can doubt how false this is, especially where there is question of those fictitious theories they call immanentism, or idealism, or materialism, whether historic or dialectic, or even existentialism, whether atheistic or simply the type that denies the validity of the reason in the field of metaphysics.”  (Pope Pius XII, Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli [b. at Rome, Kingdom of Italy on Thursday, March 2, 1876; Pope: Thursday, March 2, 1939 - d. at Castel Gandolfo, Italy on Thursday, October 9, 1958], Encyclical, “Humani Generis,” Concerning Some False Opinions Threatening to Undermine the Foundations of Catholic Doctrine, Saturday, August 12, 1950, ¶¶ 30-32; emphasis added.)

Third Proof

“18.  Surely it is lamentable that those eager for novelty easily pass from a contempt for Scholastic Theology to a neglect, and even a disrespect for the Magisterium of the Church, which supports that Theology by its authority. For, this Magisterium is considered by them as a hindrance to progress and an obstacle to science; indeed, by certain non-Catholics it is looked upon as an unjust restraint by which some learned theologians are prevented from pursuing their science. And, although this Sacred Magisterium, in matters of Faith and Morals, should be the proximate and universal norm of Faith to any theologian, inasmuch as Christ the Lord entrusted the entire Deposit of Faith to it, namely, the Sacred Scriptures and Divine Tradition, to be guarded, and preserved, and interpreted; yet its office, by which the faithful are bound to flee those errors which more or less tend toward heresy, and so, too, to keep its Constitutions and Decrees, by which such perverse opinions are proscribed and prohibited [Codex Iuris Canonici, Canon 1324; cf. Cone. Vat., D.B., 1820, Canst. De Fide Cath.  chapter 4; De Fide et ratione ~ post canones.], is sometimes ignored as if it did not exist.”

“What is expounded in the Encyclical Letters of the Roman Pontiffs concerning the nature and Constitution of the Church, is deliberately and habitually neglected by some with the idea of giving force to a certain vague notion which they profess to have found in the ancient Fathers, especially the Greeks. The Popes, they assert, do not wish to pass judgment on what is a matter of dispute among theologians, so recourse must be had to the early sources, and the recent constitutions and decrees of the Teaching Church must be explained from the writings of the ancients.”

“19.  Although these things seem well said, still they are not free from error. It is true that Popes generally leave theologians free in those matters which are disputed in various ways by men of very high authority in this field; but history teaches that many matters that formerly were open to discussion, no longer now admit of discussion.”

“20. Nor must it be thought that what is expounded in Encyclical Letters does not of itself demand consent, since in writing such Letters the Popes do not exercise the supreme power of their Teaching Authority. For these matters are taught with the ordinary teaching authority, of which it is true to say: ‘He who heareth you, heareth me’; [Footnote 3: Luke 10:16.] and generally what is expounded and inculcated in Encyclical Letters already for other reasons appertains to Catholic Doctrine. But if the Supreme Pontiffs in their official documents purposely pass judgment on a matter up to that time under dispute, it is obvious that that matter, according to the mind and will of the same Pontiffs, cannot be any longer considered a question open to discussion among theologians.”  (Pope Pius XII, Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli [b. at Rome, Kingdom of Italy on Thursday, March 2, 1876; Pope: Thursday, March 2, 1939 - d. at Castel Gandolfo, Italy on Thursday, October 9, 1958], Encyclical, “Humani Generis,” Some False Opinions [of Modernist Heretics and of the Heretical NEW Theology Theologians who surfaced as periti - experts - who advised the Bishops at Synod Vatican 2] that Threaten to Undermine the Foundations of Catholic Doctrine, Saturday, August 12, 1950, ¶¶ 18-20; emphasis added.)

Fourth Proof

Just as the Heresy of Change is really part of the Heresy of Modernism, so also  the Heresy of Action is really part of the Heresy of the NEW Theology.  Pope Pius XII had already used the term “the Heresy of Action” on Friday, June 16, 1944 in his Apostolic Letter “Cum Proxime Exeat Saeculum” to, among others, the Vicar General of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), which was over 14 years before he used it on Saturday, September 23, 1950 in his Apostolic Exhortation “Menti Nostrae”.  This is at least implicit proof that the “NEW Theology” was alive and well as early as 1944, and most probably earlier than that, but most certainly on Thursday, December 19, 1946 in which “L’Osservatore Romano”, of Thursday, December 19, 1946, reported Pope Pius XII using the term “NEW Theology”:  “There is a good deal of talk... about a NEW Theology, which must be in constant transformation...”

“60. ....We have already stated publicly in writing [Footnote 60:  Cf. A.A.S., XXXVI, 1944, p. 239; Epist. ‘Cum Proxime Exeat Saeculum’] that those who presume that the world can be saved by what has been rightly called ‘the Heresy of Action’ must be made to exercise better judgment. The ‘Heresy of Action’ is that activity which is not based upon the help of Grace and does not make constant use of the means necessary to the pursuit of Sanctity given us by Christ.”  (Pope Pius XII, Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli [b. at Rome, Kingdom of Italy on Thursday, March 2, 1876; Pope: Thursday, March 2, 1939 - d. at Castel Gandolfo, Italy on Thursday, October 9, 1958], Apostolic Exhortation “Menti Nostrae”, On the Spiritual Perfection of Priests, Saturday, September 23, 1950; ¶ 60, The Heresy Of Action; emphasis added.)

Fifth Proof

“90. In this connection, it is not out of place to recall that the method of teaching which has long been in use in Catholic schools is of particular efficacy in giving clear concepts and showing how Doctrines entrusted as Sacred Deposit to the Church, teacher of Christians, are organically connected and clear. Today, there are not lacking those who, departing from the teachings of the Church and overlooking clarity and precision of ideas, not only depart from the correct method of our schools but open the way to errors and confusion, as sad experience shows.” (Pope Pius XII, Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli [b. at Rome, Kingdom of Italy on Thursday, March 2, 1876; Pope: Thursday, March 2, 1939 - d. at Castel Gandolfo, Italy on Thursday, October 9, 1958], Apostolic Exhortation “Menti Nostrae”, On the Spiritual Perfection of Priests, Saturday, September 23, 1950, The Scholastic Method, ¶ 90; emphasis added.)

Introduction

In 1946 an article appeared in the “Angelicum” by Father Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange, O.P. who taught Dogmatic and Spiritual Theology for 53 years at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas, a.k.a. the Angelicum, in Rome, Italy. This 1946 article is entitled “La nouvelle théologie où va-t-elle?” - “Where is the New Theology Leading Us?”

Below is an English translation of this excellent article by most probably one of the best Thomistic theologians of the 20th Century. In this article, Father Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange, O.P. warned all Catholics that the “NEW Theology” is only the same old Heresy of Modernism which Pope Saint Pius X condemned in “Pascendi Dominici Gregis” - On the Doctrine of the Modernists - Sunday, September 8, 1907.

Because of its profundity, this article is meant to be studied, not simply read. This article will serve to demolish the NEW Theology which has, de facto, become the official theology of Synod Vatican 2.

Where is the New Theology Leading Us?

[Statement of the Problem]

In a recent book, Conversion et gràce chez S. Thomas d'Aquin [Footnote 1: 1944, p. 219 ] (“Conversion and Grace in St. Thomas Aquinas”), Father Henri Boulliard writes:

“Since spirit evolves, an unchanging truth can only maintain itself by virtue of a simultaneous and co-relative evolution of all ideas, each proportionate to the other. A theology which is not current [i.e. which does not continually change] will be a false theology.” [Footnote 2:  Emphasis added.]

And in the pages preceding and following [i.e. the above quote], the author demonstrates that the theology of St. Thomas [Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P., (b. 1225 A.D. in Rocca Secca, Naples, Italy - d. Wednesday, March 7, 1274 A.D., in Fossa Nuova, Italy), Doctor of the Church], in several of its most important sections, is not current. For example, St. Thomas’ idea of sanctifying grace was as a form (a basic principle of Supernatural operations which the Infused Virtues and the Seven Gifts have as their principle). “The ideas employed by St. Thomas are simply Aristotelian notions applied to theology.” [Footnote 3:  ibid, p. 213 ff.]

And further:

“By renouncing the Aristotelian system, modern thought abandoned the ideas, design and dialectical opposites which only made sense as functions of that system.” [Footnote 4:  p. 224.]

Thus Modern Thought abandons the notion of form.

How then can the reader evade the conclusion, namely that, since it is no longer current, the theology of St. Thomas is a false theology?

But then why have the Popes so often instructed us to follow the doctrine of St. Thomas? Why does the Church say in her Code of Canon Law, Canon 1366, n.2:

“The professors should by all means treat of the Rational Philosophy and Theology, and the training of the Students [especially Seminarians] in these subjects according to the method, doctrine and principles of the Angelic Doctor [Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P.], and should hold these as “Sacred”? [Footnote 5: “Philosophiæ rationalis ac theologiæ studia et alumnorumin his disciplinis institutionem professores omnino pertractent ad Angelici Doctoris rationem, doctrinam, et principia, eaque sancte teneant”. Code of Canon Law, Canon 1366, n.2.]

Further, how can “an unchanging truth” maintain itself if the two notions united by the verb “to be”, are essentially variable or changeable?

An “unchangeable relationship” can only be conceived of as such if there is something unchangeable in the two terms that it unites. Otherwise, for all intents and purposes, it's like saying that the waves of the sea can be stapled together.

Of course, the two ideas that are united in an “unchangeable affirmation” are sometimes at first confused and then distinguished one from the other, such as the ideas of nature, of person, substance, accident, Transubstantiation, the Real Presence, sin, Original Sin, Grace, etc. But if these are not fundamentally unchangeable, how then will the affirmation which unites them by the verb “to be” be unchangeable?

How can one hold that the Real Presence of the Substance of the Body of Christ in the Eucharist requires Transubstantiation if the ideas are fundamentally variable? How can one assert that Original Sin occurred in us through a willed fault of the first man, if the notion of Original Sin is essentially unstable? How can one hold that the particular judgment after death is eternally irrevocable, if these ideas are said to change?

Finally, how can one maintain that all of these propositions are invariably true if the idea [concept] of Truth itself must change, and if one must substitute for the Traditional definition of Truth (the conformity of judgment to intuitive reality and to its immutable laws) what has been proposed in recent years by the “philosophy of action”: the conformity of judgment to the exigencies of action, or to human life, which is always evolving?

[Editor’s Note: Because of the length of this excellent article, We now proceed to the last part of it.]

[Second Issue - Note 3]

We do not think that the writers whom we have discussed abandoned the doctrine of St. Thomas. Rather, they never adhered to it, nor ever understood it very well. This is saddening and disquieting.

Wouldn't it be that only skeptics can be formed through this type of teaching, since nothing certain is proposed in place of St. Thomas? Moreover, they pretend to submit to the directions of the Church, but what is the substance of this submission?

A professor of theology wrote to me:

“In effect, the very notion of the truth has been put into debate, and without fully realizing it, thus revisiting modernism in thought as in action. The writings that you have spoken to me about are much read in France. It is true that they exercise a huge influence on the average type of soul. They have little effect on serious people. It is necessary to write for those who have the sincere desire to be enlightened.”

Surely, the Church not only recognized the authority of St. Thomas in the domain of theology, but, by extension, also in philosophy. Contrary to their assertions, the Encyclical, Æterni patris of Leo XIII speaks above all of the philosophy of St. Thomas. Likewise, the 24 Thomistic theses proposed in 1916 by the Sacred Congregation of Studies are of a philosophical order, and if these pronunciata maiora of St. Thomas are not certified, then how can his theology have value, since they are constantly reiterated in the philosophy? Finally, we have already cited Pius X, who wrote:

“We admonish professors to bear well in mind that they cannot set aside St. Thomas especially in metaphysical questions, without grave disadvantage.” (Encyclical “Pascendi”).]

“A small error in principle, says Aquinas, is a great error in conclusion.” (Encyclical “Pascendi”)

From whence do these trends come?

A good analyst wrote to me:

“We are harvesting the fruits of the unguarded attendance of university courses. Those who have attempted to attend the classes of the masters of modernist thought in order to convert them have allowed themselves to be converted by them. Little by little, they come to accept their ideas, their methods, their disdain of scholasticism, their historicism, their idealism and all of their errors. If this is the result for those already formed, it is surely perilous for the others.”

Conclusion: Whither the New Theology?

It revisits Modernism. Because it accepted the proposition which was intrinsic to Modernism: that of substituting, as if it were illusory, the Traditional definition of Truth: æquatio rei et intellectus (the adequation of intellect and reality), for the subjective definition: adequatio realis mentis et vitæ (the adequation of intellect and life). That was more explicitly stated in the already cited proposition, which emerged from the “Philosophy of Action”, and was condemned by the Holy Office, December 1, 1924:

“Truth is not found in any particular act of the intellect wherein conformity with the object would be had, as the Scholastics say, but rather truth is always in a state of becoming, and consists in a progressive alignment of the understanding with life, indeed a certain perpetual process, by which the intellect strives to develop and explain that which experience presents or action requires: by which principle, moreover, as in all progression, nothing is ever determined or fixed.\” [Footnote 18: “Conformitas cum obiecto, ut aiunt scholastici, sed veritas est semper in fieri, consistitque in adæquatione progressiva intellectus et vitæ, scil. in motu quodam perpetuo, quo intellectus evolvere et explicare nititur id quod parit experientia vel exigit actio: ea tamen lege ut in toto progressu nihil unquam ratum fixumque habeatur.”] (v. Monitore ecclesiastico, 1925, t. I, p. 194.)

The Truth is no longer “the conformity of judgment to intuitive reality and its immutable laws”, but “the conformity of judgment to the exigencies of action, and of human life which continues to evolve”. The Philosophy of Being or Ontology is substituted by the Philosophy of Action which defines Truth as “no longer a function of being but of action”.

Thus is Modernism reprised: “Truth is no more immutable than man himself, inasmuch as it is evolved with him, in him and through him. [Footnote 42: “Veritas non est immutabilis plusquam ipse homo, quippe quæ cum ipso, in ipso et per ipsum evolvitur”. (Denzinger, “Enchiridion Symbolorum et Definitionum”, # 2058).]  As well, Pius X said of the Modernists, “they pervert the eternal concept of Truth”.

This is what our mentor, Father M.B. Schwalm previewed in his articles in “Revue thomiste”, (1896 through 1898) [43: 1896, p. 36, section 413; 1897, p. 62, 239, 627; 1898, p. 578] on the Philosophy of Action, on the Moral Dogmatism of Father Labertbonnière, on the crisis of Contemporary Apologetics, on the Illusions of Idealism, and on the dangers that all of these posed to the Faith.

But while many thought that Father Schwalm had exaggerated, little by little they conceded the right to cite the new definition of Truth, and they more or less ceased defending the Traditional definition of Truth, as well as the conformity of judgment to intuitive being and the immutable laws of non-contradiction, of causality, etc. For them, the Truth is no longer “that which is”, but “that which is becoming and is constantly and always changing”.

Thus to cease to defend the Traditional definition of Truth by permitting it to be illusory, it is then necessary to substitute the vitalist and evolutionary. This then leads to Complete Relativism and is a very serious error.

Moreover, this leads to saying what the enemies of the Church wish to lead us to say. When one reads their recent works, one sees that they are completely content and that they themselves propose interpretations of our dogmas, whether it be regarding Original Sin, cosmic evil, the Incarnation, Redemption, the Eucharist, the final universal reintegration, the cosmic Christ, the convergence of all religions toward a universal cosmic center. [Footnote 44:  Authors such as Téder and Papus, in their explication of Martinist Doctrine, teach a mystical pantheism and a neo-gnosticism by which everything comes out of God by “emanation” (there is then a fall, a cosmic evil, a “sui generis” - Original Sin), and all aspire to be re-integrated into the divinity, and all shall arrive there.   This is in many recent occultists’ works on the modern Christ, and fulness in terms of astral light, ideas not at all those of the Church and which are blasphemous inversions because they are always the pantheistic negation of the true Supernatural, and often even the negation of the distinction of moral good and of moral evil, in order to allow only that which is a useful or desired good, including cosmic or physical evil, which with the reintegration of all, without exception, will disappear.]

One understands why the Holy Father [Pius XII] in his recent Speech published in the September 19, 1946, issue of “L'Osservatore Romano”, said, when speaking of the “new theology”:

“If we were to accept such an opinion, what would become of the unchangeable dogmas of the Catholic Faith; and what would become of the unity and stability of that Faith?”

Further, since [Divine] Providence only permits evil for a good reason, and since we see all about us an excellent reaction against the errors we have emphasized herein, we can then hope that these deviations shall be the occasion of a true doctrinal renewal, achieved through a profound study of the works of St. Thomas, whose value is more and more apparent when compared to today's intellectual disarray.

[Footnote 45:  Certainly we admit that the true mystical experience, which proceeds in the Just from the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, above all, the Gift of Wisdom, confirms the Faith, because it demonstrates to us that the revealed mysteries correspond to our most profound hopes, and arouses the highest of those hopes. We recognize that there is a Truth of Life, a Conformity of the Spirit, with the life of the man of good will, and a peace which is the Sign of Truth. But this mystical experience supposes the Infused Faith, and the Act of Faith itself supposes Faith in the revealed mysteries.

Likewise, as the Vatican Council [i.e. the Twentieth Œcumenical Council, The Vatican Council  [Wednesday, December 8, 1869 A.D. - Monday, July 18, 1870 A.D.] expresses it, we are able to have, by the natural light of reason, the certainty that God exists as the author of nature. Solely because of this [fact], it is necessary that the principles of these proofs, in particular that of causality, are true “per conformitatem ad ens extramentale”, and that they are demonstrable through sufficiently objectively proofs (subject “a priori” to the free choice of men of good will), and not only through a sufficiently subjective proof, as that of the Kantian one of the existence of God.

Finally the practical truth of prudence (per conformitatem ad intentionem rectam) supposes that our intention is truly strictly fixed on the ultimate end of man, and the judgment of the end of men must be true “secundum mentis conformitatem ad realitatem extramentalem”. Cf. I-II. Q. 19, a. 3, ad 2.

[“The Philosopher speaks here of the practical intellect, in so far as it counsels and reasons about the means: for in this respect it is perfected by prudence. Now in regard to the means, the rectitude of the reason depends on its conformity with the desire of a due end: nevertheless the very desire of the due end presupposes on the part of reason a right apprehension of the end” (Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P., “Summa Theologica”, Part I-II, Question 19, Article 3, Reply to Objection 2).]

(Father Garrigou-Lagrange, O.P. [b. Auch, France 1877 A.D. - d. The First Problem - Conclusion

Therefore, the logical conclusion of this first problem in regard to the Statement of the Issue is that this first problem was ultimately caused by the Heresy of Modernism and by the Heresy of the NEW Theology which explains WHY We have briefly explained WHAT the Heresy of Modernism and the Heresy of the NEW Theology really are - which can be summarized by the red flag on which is found but one word: CHANGE.

For future reference, whenever you come upon the word CHANGE, there is a very high probability that it has something to do, in one way or another, with the Heresy of Modernism and the Heresy of the NEW Theology.

CHANGE, in terms of theology, in terms of philosophy, in terms of the Liturgical Rites for the Mass and the Seven Sacraments, in terms of the Sacred Divine Deposit of the Catholic Faith, will in fact inevitably have something to do, in one way or another, with the Apostates who espouse the Heresy of Modernism and/or the Heresy of the NEW Theology.  So, have nothing to do with it in any way!

The Second Problem - The Ultimate Effects

The Statement of the Issue - Third Repetition as a Courtesy

“The church makes the rules (laws),
so the church can change the rules (laws).”

Having dealt with the objective historical, ecclesiastical, and theological facts of  the first problem concerning the Statement of the Issue which very cleverly and skillfully insinuates, suggests, implies, and hints that this is something which the Roman Catholic Church officially teaches, and which said Statement is but a very cleverly disguised element - ironically, the one and only “unchangeable dogma” - CHANGE - of the Heresy of Modernism, which has been “updated” vis-à-vis the Heresy of the NEW Theology, so that both of these identical-twin heresies, which are likened to the twin heads of but one hideous demonic Devil, which some may consider to be somewhat similar to the mythical Orthrus, a two-headed hellhound - hound of Hell - eventually killed by Heracles, a.k.a.  Hercules, but which in the real world both the Modernists and the NEW Theology Theologians, who as the result of their inveterate obfuscation of Sacred Apostolic Tradition each one is seen as nothing more than an inimical Spiritual homuncio, are justly and courageously “Spiritually killed” by the censure of their automatic excommunication in the Motu Proprio, “Præstantia Scripturæ Sacræ”, ¶ 5, of the real-life “Hercules” in the person of Pope Saint Pius X, issued on Monday, November 18, 1907, are the ultimate CAUSE of this first problem which diabolical Statement has been expertly camouflaged as “Traditional” so that it “sounds good”, but in reality, it is not “good and sound”, now it logically follows that the ultimate EFFECTS of the Heresy of Modernism and of the Heresy of the NEW Theology must needs be examined to show the disastrous diabolical EFFECTS of this Statement which are revealed under ecclesiastical investigation:  “The church makes the rules (laws), so the church can change the rules (laws).”

In other words, what has the cause of the first problem - the Heresies of Modernism and of the NEW Theology - produced or effected?

Put yet another way, for what are the Heresies of Modernism, repackaged as the NEW Theology, responsible?

The Heresies of Modernism, repackaged as the NEW Theology, are responsible for the vile attempt to legitimatize all of the changes of the changes of the changes of the never-ending changes to the Sacred Divine Deposit of the Catholic Faith which includes the Catholic Traditional Faith, Mass, and Sacraments by the inimical cadre of the automatically excommunicated heretical and apostate Modernist Heretics and the heretical and apostate automatically excommunicated NEW Theology Theologians who hate everything “Catholic” and who have defiled what is known as the Sacred Divine Deposit of the Catholic Faith.

These heretical and apostate wolves in the clothing of sheep have metaphorically turned the Catholic Church into the proverbial Augean Stables which they have filled to overflowing with their heretical and apostate dung which excrement has contaminated all of its victims with its toxic lies and deliberate deceptions, along with their continual Satanic litanies of anti-Christ anti-Truths, anti-Masses, anti-Sacraments, and anti-Catholic Faith, all of which combine and coalesce to eschew the real and true and immutable Sacred and Divine Deposit of the Catholic Faith because such Spiritual, theological, liturgical, and ecclesiastical feculence bathes such apostate heretics who stubbornly continue to wallow like huge hogs, bursting with corpulent guile, vis-à-vis their pens of the proverbial euphemistic triphenylmethyl radical, as many live in their luxurious  rectories, chanceries, monasteries, and other residences, We hopefully pray will very soon be flushed out by the rivers of Truth and Justice, lest the Divine Judge return to drive out these modern-day evil “money-changers” with His multi-pronged whip, a.k.a. the cat of nine tails, of the Wrath of God.

These restless, ambitious, heretical and apostate innovators, who are human agents of Satan, will not rest until they have totally destroyed everything that is truly “Catholic” in the Catholic Church, as the history of their sacrilegious destruction of the Holy Altars of Sacrifice, of their blasphemous desecration of the Holy Sanctuary - including the Catholic Traditional pre-1944 Altar Stones, Altar Missals, Vestments, Statues, Altar Railing - is proven by the empirical evidence, which destruction the disciples of the original nucleus of the afore-mentioned professional imposters, charlatans, and ravening wolves, many of whom donned the Roman Collar in order to subvert, confuse, and destroy the Catholic flock by their vesture of the proverbial sheep’s clothing, are nothing but butchers of the unchangeable Catholic Faith, Mass, and Sacraments because of what they have brought about by their virtual crucifixion of the Mystical Body of Christ, so that not only are their anti-Catholic, invalid and illicit NEW masses and NEW sacraments - the liturgical rites of which were composed in Hell - void of all Sanctifying Grace, which makes of wormwood the mirage of a fevered brain, but also, the immutable and Sacred Divine Deposit of Faith has been savagely, mercilessly, and ruthlessly clawed to shreds, as well as pound into powder by their cloven hoofs, so that any vestige of it is almost impossible to recognize what with its Satanic replacement which is shoved down the throats of its victims under the false pretense that one must accept such Spiritual, liturgical, theological, ecclesiastical toxic demonic vomit because Catholics must “obey” and “do” what the so-called “popes of Synod Vatican 2”, and their pernicious successors, have commanded in their anti-Catholic tirades of heresy, apostasy, and schism which are most astutely, carefully, and conveniently concealed by their equivocal, evasive, ambiguous, indeterminate, and unintelligible penumbra of psychobabble, double-talk, nonsense, double-speak, gibberish, circumlocution, rigmarole, and other such tomfoolery apropos of the proverbial black hole of the Cartesian-Hegelian-Teilhardian psychophysical parallelistically insidious omega point of ersatz dialectics, blunders, errors, falsehoods, deliberate deception, and blatant lies which has produced “talking-heads” who spout forth their gargoyled regurgitated cause célèbre as if, for such ignorant, but eager, disciples, the epitome of “propter mutationem mutant” - change for the sake of change - is not an irascible reality - but all of this ultimately ends as a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying the nothingness of the zero of naught.

Our position is that the Catholic Traditional Faith, Mass, and Sacraments have been destroyed by the apostate heretical Modernist Heretics and the apostate heretical NEW Theology Theologians.

Let Us consider the Holy Sacrifice of the Catholic Traditional Mass and the Sacraments concerning which essence it is forbidden to change in any way.

First Proof

“...the Church has no power over the ‘substance [essence] of the Sacraments’...”  (Pope Pius XII, Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli [b. at Rome, Kingdom of Italy on Thursday, March 2, 1876; Pope: Thursday, March 2, 1939 - d. at Castel Gandolfo, Italy on Thursday, October 9, 1958], “Sacramentum Ordinis”, Sunday, November 30, 1947.

Second Proof

“...in the administration of the Sacraments, their substance being untouched (salva illorum substantia)...”  (Roman Catholic Council of Trent, Session 21, Monday, July 16, 1562, Chapter 2.)

Third Proof

“Since, therefore, the sanctification of man is in the power of God Who sanctifies, it is not for man to decide what things should be used for his sanctification, but this should be determined by Divine institution.” (Saint Thomas Aquinas, O.P., [b. 1225 A.D. in Rocca Secca, Naples, Italy - d. Wednesday, March 7, 1274 A.D., in Fossa Nuova, Italy], Doctor of the Church, “Summa Theologica,” Part III, Question 60, Article 5, Body; emphasis added).

Nevertheless, the apostate heretics were successful in changing the unchangeable Catholic Mass.

Fourth Proof

"The New Mass is a different liturgy. This needs to be said without ambiguity. The Roman Rite, as we knew it, no longer exists.  It has been DESTROYED!"  (Father Joseph Gelineau S.J. [b. at Champ-sur-Layon, Maine-et-Loire, West-Central France, on Sunday, October 31, 1920 - d. at Sallanches, a commune in the Haute-Savoie  department in the Rhône-Alps, South-Eastern France, on Friday, August 8, 2008].   He was a Synod Vatican 2 “peritus” - expert - who helped to make up the NOR along with other anti-Catholics and the 6 Protestants.  He was, of course, a professional apologist for the NOR.  This quotation is from his book - “Demain La Liturgk,” Paris, 1976, pp. 9-10; emphasis added).

So WHY is "The New Mass"  "a different liturgy"?

BECAUSE the PERFECTLY and DIVINELY Instituted UNCHANGEABLE  Ontological Essence and the  PERFECTLY and DIVINELY Instituted UNCHANGEABLE  Metaphysical Essence of this VERY SPECIFIC UNCHANGEABLE Liturgical Rite for the New and Eternal Covenant - THE MASS - which was PERFECTLY and DIVINELY Instituted by God the Son, Jesus Christ, the Eternal High Priest, which is totally immutable (unchangeable) by virtue of its PERFECT, DIVINE, and INFINITE INSTITUTION,  is NOT found in "The New Mass"!

WHY NOT?

BECAUSE the entire essence of THE MASS "has been destroyed!"

In other words, the entire essence of THE MASS, which consists in both the PERFECTLY and DIVINELY Instituted UNCHANGEABLE Ontological Essence and the PERFECTLY and DIVINELY Instituted UNCHANGEABLE Metaphysical Essence of this VERY SPECIFIC UNCHANGEABLE Liturgical Rite for the New and Eternal Covenant - THE MASS - which was PERFECTLY and DIVINELY Instituted by God the Son, Jesus Christ, the Eternal High Priest, which is totally immutable (unchangeable) by virtue of its PERFECT, DIVINE, and INFINITE INSTITUTION, "has been  DESTROYED!"

The blatant attack against the real and true and immutable Sacred and Divine Deposit of the Catholic Faith logically leads one to ask:  “What is the Sacred Divine Deposit of the Catholic Faith?” which is the ultimate reason why the Catholic Church has the power to make rules in the first place

The Sacred Divine Deposit of the Catholic Faith

What is the actual or real basis upon which the Church has the power, authority, and jurisdiction to be able to make the rules (laws)?

The Catholic Church has received her power, authority, and jurisdiction to be able to make the rules (laws) from her Divine Founder, Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, God Incarnate Who, “in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1).

That Jesus Christ actually instituted His Church is proven from the contents of the Deposit of Faith which contains “the Sacred Scriptures and Divine Tradition” (Pope Pius XII, Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli [Thursday, March 2, 1939 - Thursday, October 9, 1958], Encyclical, “Humani Generis,” Concerning Some False Opinions Threatening to Undermine the Foundations of Catholic Doctrine, Saturday, August 12, 1950; emphasis added.)

Christ said:

“...upon this rock I will build My Church, and the Gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to thee the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven.  And  whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in Heaven:  and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in Heaven.” (Matthew 16:18-19; emphasis added).
The Catholic Church requires a reverence for, and obedience to, the Sacred Divine Deposit of the Catholic Faith under the penalty of the censure of anathema which is to be found in the Canons and Decrees of General Doctrinal Councils which condemn those errors opposed to one or more parts of the Sacred Divine Deposit of the Catholic Faith.  In addition, the Sacred Divine Deposit of the Catholic Faith must be protected and defended.

First Example

Canon 2.  If anyone shall have said that the human sciences should be treated with such liberty that their assertions, although opposed to revealed doctrine, can be retained as true, and cannot be proscribed by the Church: let him be anathema.  (Pope Pius IX, Giovanni Maria Mastai-Ferretti [Tuesday, June 16, 1846 - Thursday, February 7, 1878], The Vatican Council, Session III [Sunday, April 24, 1870], “Dogmatic Constitution Concerning the Catholic Faith”, Chapter 4, Faith and Reason, Canon 2; emphasis added.)

Second Example

“For the Church, from her Divine Institution, has the duty both to hold most diligently to the Deposit of Faith, whole and inviolate, and to watch continually with great earnestness over the Salvation of Souls, and with the greatest care to remove and eliminate all those things which can be opposed to Faith or can in any way endanger the Salvation of Souls.” (Pope Pius IX, Giovanni Maria Mastai-Ferretti [Tuesday, June 16, 1846 - Thursday, February 7, 1878], Epistle, “Gravissimas Inter,” to the Archbishop of Munich-Freising, Thursday, December 11, 1862, The False Freedom of Science (against James Frohschammer), # 1675, page 424; emphasis added.)

Third  Example

“11. Now, truly, We cannot conceal the fact that We are in great anguish since there are some clergy in Italy who, forgetful of their vocation, do not blush in the least to spread abroad false doctrine, even in subversive writings.... these ecclesiastics in open contempt of ecclesiastical censure and penalty have become impudently fearless in organizing certain condemnable societies commonly known as Liberal Clerical, of Mutual Assistance, For the Emancipation of the Italian Clergy, and other associations animated by the same depraved spirit. Although deservedly forbidden to perform their holy ministry, nevertheless, like brazen intruders, they sinfully and illicitly exercise it in many churches. We, therefore, disapprove and condemn the behavior of the same ecclesiastics. At the same time, We admonish and exhort, again and again, these unfortunate men to return to their right mind and heart and take thought for their own salvation, seriously considering ‘that God tolerates no example of conduct more from others than from Priests when He sees those, whom He Ordains for the improvement of others, give example of their own depravity’ [Footnote 14: St. Gregory the Great, Sermon 17, In Evangel.].  Let them fervently reflect that their confused state must be repaired before the tribunal of Christ.” (Pope Pius IX, Encyclical “Quanto Conficiamur Moerore”, On Promotion of False Doctrines, August 10, 1863, ¶ 11; emphasis added.)

Fourth  Example

“38. Therefore, the teaching of the Catholic Church received from Christ Himself, and handed on by the holy Apostles, is that the things of Caesar must be given to Caesar, but to God must be given the things of God.... but ecclesiastical affairs are entirely the concern of the Priests. Among these affairs are to be reckoned everything which is necessary to establishing and maintaining the so-called exterior Discipline of the Church. It would be heretical to affirm that the use of this power received from God is an abuse of the Church's authority... St. Athanasius called the interference of secular rulers in Church affairs ‘a novel spectacle’ and ‘an invention of the Arian heresy’ [Footnote 58:  Hist. Arianor. ad Monach., no. 52.] Other prelates openly condemned it, among them [Saint] Basil of Caesarea, [Saint] Gregory the Theologian, [Saint] John Chrysostom and [Saint] John Damascene.  The last named affirmed publicly that ‘... the Church is... ruled by the customs of the Fathers, both written and unwritten’. [Footnote 59:  Oration 2 de sacr. imaginib., no. 16.].” (Pope Pius IX, Encyclical “Quartus Supra”, On the Church in Armenia, January 6, 1873  ¶ 38, emphasis added.)

Fifth  Example

“The basis of the new opinions which We have mentioned is established as essentially this:  In order that those who dissent may more easily be brought over to Catholic wisdom, the Church should come closer to the civilization of this advanced age, and relaxing its old severity show indulgence to those opinions and theories of the people which have recently been introduced.  Moreover, many think that this should be understood not only with regard to the standard of living, but even with regard to the Doctrines in which the Deposit of Faith is contained. For, they contend that it is opportune to win over those who are in disagreement, if certain topics of Doctrine are passed over as of lesser importance, or are so softened that they do not retain the same sense as the Church has always held.   Now there is no need of a long discussion to show with what a reprehensible purpose this has been thought out, if only the character and origin of the teaching which the Church hands down are considered.” (Pope Leo XIII, Gioacchino Vincenzo Pecci [Wednesday, February 20, 1878 - Monday, July 20, 1903], Apostolic Letter “Testem Benevolentiae,” to Cardinal Gibbons, Sunday, January 22, 1899, “Against the Heresy of Americanism”; emphasis added.)

Sixth  Example

The Catholic Church in her validly Consecrated Bishops are required to guard, to protect, and to defend the contents of the Sacred Deposit of Faith.

“43. ...We are deeply pained when We hear that not a few of Our Brother Bishops are being attacked and persecuted.... merely because they.... guard with energy and loyalty, as they should the Sacred ‘Deposit of Faith’ [Footnote 67: Cf. 1 Timothy 6:20] confided to them; merely because they insist on the Sacred Laws that have been engraved by God on the Souls of men, and after the example of the Supreme Shepherd defend their flock against ravenous wolves [i.e. Heretics and Apostates, as well as anti-Catholic Infiltrators]. Such an offense We consider as committed against Our own person and We repeat the noble words of Our predecessor of immortal memory Gregory the Great: “Our honor is the honor of the Universal Church; Our honor is the united strength of Our Brethren; and We are truly honored when honor is given to each and every one.” [Footnote 68: Cf. Epistle to Eulog., 30: Jacques Paul Migne (b. Saint-Flour, France on Saturday, October 25, 1800 - d. Paris, France on  Sunday, October 24, 1875), “Patrologiæ Latinæ Cursus Completus,” published in 221 volumes (1862 - 1864), Volume 77, column 933.].” (Pope Pius XII, Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli [b. at Rome, Kingdom of Italy on Thursday, March 2, 1876; Pope: Thursday, March 2, 1939 - d. at Castel Gandolfo, Italy on Thursday, October 9, 1958], Encyclical “Mystici Corporis Christi,” On the Mystical Body of Christ, Tuesday, June 29, 1943, ¶ 43; emphasis added.)

Seventh  Example

“Further, the Church which, together with the Apostolic Duty of Teaching, has received the command to guard the Deposit of Faith, has also, from Divine Providence, the right and duty of proscribing [condemning] “knowledge falsely so called” [1 Timothy 6:20], “lest anyone be cheated by philosophy and vain deceit” [cf. Colossians 2:8; Canon 2]. Wherefore, all faithful Christians not only are forbidden to defend opinions of this sort, which are known to be contrary to the teaching of Faith, especially if they have been condemned by the Church, as the legitimate conclusions of science, but they shall be altogether bound to hold them rather as errors, which present a false appearance of Truth.”  (Pope Pius IX, Giovanni Maria Mastai-Ferretti [Tuesday, June 16, 1846 - Thursday, February 7, 1878], The Vatican Council, Session III [Sunday, April 24, 1870], The Vatican Council, “Dogmatic Constitution Concerning the Catholic Faith”, Chapter 4, Faith and Reason, # 1798, pages 447-448; emphasis added.)

Eighth  Example

“It also happens that the same author so bitterly, so rashly fights for the liberty, or rather the unbridled license, of philosophy that he does. not at all fear to assert that the Church not only ought never to pay any attention to philosophy, but should even tolerate the errors of philosophy itself, and leave it to correct itself [see n. 171 I]; from which it happens that philosophers necessarily share in this liberty of philosophy, and so even they are freed from all law. Who does not see how forcefully an opinion and teaching of this sort of Frohschammer's should be rejected, reproved, and altogether condemned?” (Pope Pius IX, Giovanni Maria Mastai-Ferretti [Tuesday, June 16, 1846 - Thursday, February 7, 1878], Epistle, “Gravissimas Inter,” to the Archbishop of Munich-Freising, Thursday, December 11, 1862, The False Freedom of Science (against James Frohschammer), # 1675, page 424; emphasis added.)

Ninth  Example

“Because, according to the extant doctrine of our predecessors of sacred memory, against which it is wrong to argue, whoever seems to understand rightly, does not desire to be taught by new assertions, but all [matters] in which either he who has been deceived by heretics can be instructed, or he who is about to be planted in the vineyard of the Lord can be trained, are clear and perfect...”  (Saint Simplicius I [Saturday, March 3, 468 - Wednesday, March 10, 483]:  The Necessity of Guarding the Faith Which Has Been Handed Down 1 [From the Epistle “Quantum Presbyterorum” to Acacius, Bishop of Constantinople, Thursday, January 9, 476 A.D.)

Tenth  Example

“[Saint Paul commands,] ‘Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the Traditions which you have been taught, whether by word [oral Tradition] or by our letter [written Tradition - Scripture]’ [2 Thessalonians 2:15]. From this it is clear that they did not hand down everything by letter [written Tradition - Scripture], but there is much also that was not written [oral Tradition]. Like that which was written [written Tradition - Scripture], the unwritten [oral Tradition] too is worthy of belief. So let us regard the Tradition [oral Tradition] of the Church also as worthy of belief. Is it a Tradition? Seek no further” (Patriarch Saint John Chrysostom [b. Antioch, c. 347 A.D. - d. at Commana in Pontus on Friday, September 14, 407 A.D.], Patriarch of Constantinople [Thursday, February 26, 398 A.D. - Thursday, June 24, 404 A.D.], exiled from his See the 2nd time on Thursday, June 24, 404 A.D., Father and Doctor of the Catholic Church; “Homilies on Second Thessalonians,” 402 A.D.]; emphasis added).

Eleventh  Example

“Therefore, heresy is so-called from the Greek word meaning choice, by which each chooses according to his own will what he pleases to teach or believe.  But we are not permitted to believe whatever we choose, nor to choose whatever someone else has believed.  We have the Apostles of God as authorities, who did not themselves of their own will choose what they would believe, but faithfully transmitted to the nations the teaching received from Christ.  So, even if an Angel from Heaven should preach otherwise, he shall be called anathema”  (Saint Isidore of Seville [b. Cartagena, Spain 560 A.D. - d. Seville, Spain, 636 A.D.], Bishop of Seville, Doctor of the Catholic Church, “Etymologies”, 8, 3; emphasis added).

Twelfth  Example

Magnopere curandum est ut id teneamus
quod ubique, quod semper,
quod ab omnibus creditum est.

“Care must especially be had that that [Faith] be held, which was believed everywhere, always, and by all.” (Father Saint Vincent of Lerins, “A Commonitory [an aid to memory] for the Antiquity and Universality of the Catholic Faith Against the Profane Novelties of All Heresies,” Chapter 3; emphasis added.)

Thirteenth  Example

“But Catholic Doctrine tells us that the primary duty of Charity does not lie in the toleration of false ideas, however sincere they may be.... Catholic Doctrine further tells us that love for our neighbor flows from our love for God, Who is Father to all, and goal of the whole human family; and in Jesus Christ whose members we are, to the point that in doing good to others we are doing good to Jesus Christ Himself. Any other kind of love is sheer illusion, sterile and fleeting....

“Further, whilst Jesus was kind to sinners and to those who went astray, He did not respect their false ideas, however sincere they might have appeared. He loved them all, but He instructed them in order to convert them and save them....   they show in Our Lord Jesus Christ something quite different from an inconsistent and impotent humanitarianism.”  (Roman Catholic Pope Saint Pius X, Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto [Tuesday, August 4, 1903 - Thursday, August 20, 1914], Encyclical “Notre Charge Apostolique”, Our Apostolic Mandate, To the French Bishops, Monday, August 15, 1910, ¶ 27, ¶ 47; emphasis added.)

Fourteenth  Example

“The Church of Christ, zealous and cautious guardian of the Dogmas deposited with it [Deposit of Faith], never changes any phase of them.  It does not diminish them or add to them; it neither trims what seems necessary nor grafts things superfluous; it neither gives up its own nor usurps what does not belong to it.

“But it devotes all its diligence to one aim; to treat Tradition faithfully and wisely; to nurse and polish what from old times may have remained unshaped and unfinished; to consolidate and to strengthen what already was clear and plain; and to guard what already was confirmed and defined.”  (Father Saint Vincent of Lerins, “A Commonitory [an aid to memory] for the Antiquity and Universality of the Catholic Faith Against the Profane Novelties of All Heresies,” Chapter 33; emphasis added.)

The Third Problem - No Distinction

The Statement of the Issue - Fourth Repetition as a Courtesy

“The church makes the rules (laws),
so the church can change the rules (laws).”

This statement is not True.  Rather, it is the Fallacy of No Distinction.

What is a Fallacy?  Among other things, a Fallacy is any violation of a logical principle disguised under a show or pretext of validity.  It is also an argument which, while seemingly valid, really violates some logical principle.  The chief synonyms for Fallacy are Sophism and Paralogism.

Because the above statement is an absolute, unconditional, unqualified statement, it is the second type of an Extradictional, Semi-Logical Fallacy which is known as the Confusion Between an Absolute Statement and an Qualified Statement.

What is an Extradictional Fallacy?  The Science of Scholastic Philosophy teaches that all fallacies which are not Fallacies of Diction are all automatically classified as being Extradictional Fallacies, i.e. they are not within the scope or purview of diction per se.

N.B.:   Scholastic Philosophy and Scholastic Theology - primarily Thomistic Theology, were taught in Roman Catholic Seminaries up through the end of the Spring Semester of 1963.  After this time, both a false philosophy, along with a false theology, a.k.a. the NEW Theology, http://www.traditionalcatholicmass.com/home-m105.html

was then used to brainwash all Roman Catholic Seminarians and all Roman Catholic Seminary Instructors, including all Roman Catholic Seminary Priest-Instructors, as well as all other Roman Catholic Priests, including those in all Roman Catholic Parishes, by an organized group of NEW Theology Theologians!

At the same time, the NEW Theology
http://www.traditionalcatholicmass.com/home-m105.html

was also being promulgated at Synod Vatican 2 by certain elite NEW Theology Theologians
http://www.traditionalcatholicmass.com/home-m120.html
who were “periti”, i.e.  “experts” - who, of all things, were actually advising the Bishops at Synod Vatican 2!

What is a “Semi-Logical Fallacy?”   It is a violation of the rules of the syllogism; semi-logical when they arise from a misunderstanding of the Middle Term of the syllogism.

Here is an example of an “Extradictional, Semi-Logical Fallacy of the Confusion Between an Absolute Statement and an Qualified Statement”, as it is found in this syllogism:

Major Premise: It is unlawful to take another person’s life.
Minor Premise: But a soldier in battle takes another person’s life.
Conclusion:  Therefore, what the soldier does in battle is unlawful.
Here you will note that the absolute statement of the Major Premise is that it is unlawful to take another person’s life must be qualified before it is true because all moralists take the position that to take another person’s life in lawful warfare, or in self-defense, or in the name of the law, i.e. in a legal execution, is not wrong, but morally right.  Hence the Middle Term, found in the Minor Premise, fails to make the necessary distinction.  Therefore, the Major Premise is not absolute.

How is the above statement of the issue set forth in a syllogism?

Major Premise: It is lawful for the church to make the rules (laws).
Minor Premise: But it is also lawful for the church to change the rules (laws).
Conclusion:  Therefore, the church can change the rules (laws).
It is now necessary to analyze this syllogism.  We begin with the Major Premise because this blanket, comprehensive, all-inclusive, extensive, general statement must be qualified before it is true.

Major Premise: It is lawful for the church to make the rules (laws).

This Major Premise ignores the reason, or for those who prefer a more precise expression, the basis upon which, the Roman Catholic Church has the power, in the first place, to be able to make the rules (laws).

In other words, this Statement of the Issue is the Fallacy of No Distinction because it fails to make the distinction between the rules (laws) which are of Divine Institution, for example the Ten Commandments, the rules (laws) which Christ gave to the Church in what is required for the ontological essence (what makes a thing what it is) and the metaphysical essence (that which a thing does) of the Mass and the Seven Sacraments which He perfectly instituted and concerning which Christ gave no one - no Apostle, no Pope, no Council, no Synod, no Bishop, no Priest - any power, authority, or jurisdiction to change, and the two basic types of laws which the church has.

The first are those rules (laws) of the Church which have the force of law in perpetuity, and to which the penalty (censure) of anathema (automatic excommunication) are attached (e.g. the Nine Canons of the Œcumenical Dogmatic Roman Catholic Council of Trent, Session 22, Monday, September 17, 1562 on the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass:

“Canon 8.  If any one saith, that Masses, wherein the Priest alone communicates Sacramentally, are unlawful, and are, therefore, to be abrogated [abolished]; let him be anathema.).”
This is  because such rules (laws) of the Church enforce, by penalty (censure), that which Christ irrevocably instituted in terms of their essence (examples are the Mass and Seven Sacraments), and the rules (laws) of the Church which are only disciplinary in nature, e.g. not to eat meat on all Fridays of the year, to observe the rules (laws) of fast and abstinence on certain days, etc.

Hence the Middle Term, found in the Minor Premise, fails to make three necessary distinctions:

1) Not only between the rules (laws) which the Church has received from God (examples:  the Ten Commandments, what Christ irrevocably commanded, etc.), which are, by their very nature 100% absolute and unchangeable in any way because they are dogmatic in nature due to their Divine Institution and which are to be found in the Deposit of Faith;

2) But also between the Dogmatic Canons and Decrees by which the Church fulfills her duty and responsibility to teach and to preach what is contained in the Deposit of Faith which is that “good thing” of which God the Holy Ghost speaks through the pen of Saint Paul:

“Keep the good thing committed to thy trust by the Holy Ghost, Who dwelleth in us.” (2 Timothy 1:14; emphasis added.)
3) As well as between the first two distinctions and this third distinction, namely:  those Church rules (laws) which are only disciplinary, and hence changeable, by their mutable nature.  Therefore, the Major Premise is not absolute, which makes both the Minor Premise and the Conclusion invalid.

The Fourth Problem - The Prophecies

Catholics were warned about certain changes to the Catholic Traditional Faith, Mass, and Sacraments.

First Example

The NEW Mass

“And in the half of the week the Victim and the Sacrifice [of the Catholic Mass] shall fail: and there shall be in the Temple the Abomination of Desolation [the NEW mass]:  and the Desolation shall continue even to the consummation, and to the end”  (Daniel 9:27; emphasis added).

“They shall defile the Sanctuary of Strength, and shall take away the Continual Sacrifice [of the Catholic Mass], and they shall place there the Abomination unto Desolation [the NEW mass]” (Daniel 11:31; emphasis added).  N.B.:  The Jews NEVER had a Continual Sacrifice!

Second Example

“I give you a warning. The disciples who are not of My Gospel are now [1902 A.D.] working hard to remake according to their ideas, and under the influence of the enemy of Souls [Satan],  a Mass that contains words which are odious in My Sight. When the fatal hour arrives [Sunday, November 30, 1969 A.D.] where the faith of My Priests are put to the test, it will be these texts that will be celebrated, in this second period.”

Marie-Julie Jahenny

(Prophecy about the Satanic  NEW Mass by Jesus Christ to the great Catholic Mystic, Marie-Julie Jahenny [b. at Blain, Brittany - West France - on Tuesday, February 12, 1850 - d. at La Fraudais, a short distance Northeast of Blain, Brittany on Tuesday, March 4, 1941] in an apparition on Saturday, November 27, 1902; emphasis added.)

Our Blessed Mother appeared to Marie-Julie Jahenny [b. at Blain, Brittany - West France - on Tuesday, February 12, 1850 - d. at La Fraudais, a short distance Northeast of Blain, Brittany on Tuesday, March 4, 1941] on Tuesday, May 10, 1904 and  described the New Clergy and their liturgy:

“They will not stop on this hateful and sacrilegious road. They will go further to compromise all at once, and in one blow, the Holy Church, the Clergy, and the Faith of my children.”
Our Blessed Mother announced the “dispersion of the pastors” by the church herself; “true Pastors, who will be replaced by others formed by Hell”:  “...new preachers of NEW sacraments, NEW temples, NEW baptisms, NEW confraternities.”

More information is at:

“Jesus Christ Warned Catholics About the NEW Mass and Our Blessed Mother Also Warned Catholics About the NEW Sacraments”.

This is at:   http://www.traditionalcatholicmass.com/home-m110.html

Third Example

Our Lady of LaSalette

Corruption is in holy places.... Rome will lose the Faith and become the seat of anti-Christ.” (Our Lady of LaSalette to Frances Melanie Mathieu; emphasis added.) (Saturday, September 19, 1846).   (The Roman Catholic Church, in the person of Pope Pius IX, Giovanni M. Mastai Ferretti [Tuesday, June 16, 1846 - Thursday, February 7, 1878], approved of this apparition as genuine.)

Fourth Example

Our Lady of Fatima

Is This the REAL Third Secret of Fatima?

May, 1994, a French Catholic Priest was listening to a CD entitled “Mysterium Fidei,” with French lyrics and sung by French choirs. As he was devoutly listening, the music suddenly became very subdued, fading into the background.

Then a normal voice, quite clear, was heard to say:

“L'eglise saignera de toutes ses plaies” - “The Church will bleed from all her wounds.”
This followed:
There will be a wicked council planned and prepared that will change the countenance of the Church. Many will lose the Faith; confusion will reign everywhere. The sheep will search for their shepherds in vain.

“A schism will tear apart the Holy Tunic of My Son. This will be the end of times, foretold in the Holy Scriptures and recalled to memory by me in many places. The abomination of abominations will reach its peak and it will bring the chastisement announced at LaSalette. My Son’s arm, which I will not be able to hold back anymore, will punish this poor world, which must expiate its crimes.

One will only speak about wars and revolutions. The elements of nature will be unchained and will cause anguish even among the best [the most courageous]. The Church will bleed from all Her wounds. Happy are they who will persevere and search for refuge in My Heart, because in the end My Immaculate Heart will triumph.”  (emphasis added.)

Upon the conclusion of this message, the Priest heard only one more thing:
“This is the Third Secret of Fatima.”
True? or False?

Hopefully Our Blessed Mother will return to confirm it IF this is in fact the Third Part of the Secret of Fatima.

Certainly many parts of this message seem to “fit” the historical events since 2nd John 23, Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli [Tuesday, October 28, 1958 - Monday, June 3, 1963] was supposed to reveal the Third Secret in 1960 and disobeyed the Blessed Virgin Mary by not doing it.

IF this IS the Third Secret of Fatima, this would very definitely explain why the Pope refused to reveal this Secret because then his “council” - Vatican 2 - would never have happened and all of the changes of the changes of the changes would have taken much, much longer to happen.

Conclusion

We humbly and respectfully invite each of you to join with Us in praying for the Grace of Conversion for all Modernist Heretics and all NEW Theology Theologian Heretics, as well as all those who are their followers and disciples and also all of those whom their apostate heresies have victimized in one way or another, so that they may repent of their sins, receive Absolution for their heresies and apostasy and their automatic excommunication, and perform the penance given to them and that they may no more go about spreading apostate heresies.

Concerning the Statement of the Issue:

“The church makes the rules (laws), so the church can change the rules (laws),”
it has four major problems as proven above.  The key word in this apostate heresy is “change”.  “Change” is anti-Tradition, anti-Deposit of Faith, anti-Mass, anti-Sacraments, and, in one word: “anti-Catholic”, not to mention “anti-Truth”.

Catholics be warned that this is not an isolated issue.  The apostate heretics have also victimized Catholics, since at least 1971 when We first heard about it being used.  It is this:

God is not in the punishment business.”
Anyone who is familiar with the Old Testament, and with the New Testament account of Christ driving out the evil money-changers from the Temple with a whip, plus the Apocalypse, are more than sufficient proof for any sane, rational person to realize that God IS in the punishment business!

Hell

The Devils, along with the Souls of the perpetually damned, all of whom suffer forever in Hell, can attest to this True fact as well as do the Scriptures:

They “shall cast them into the furnace of fire” (Matthew 13:42).

“Depart from Me, you cursed, into everlasting fire which was prepared for the Devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41).

“As Sodom and Gomorrha, and the neighbouring cities, in like manner, having given themselves to fornication, and going after other flesh, were made an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire” (Jude 1:7).

“And the third Angel followed them, saying with a loud voice:  If any man shall adore the beast and his image, and receive his character in his forehead, or in his hand; he also shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mingled with pure wine in the cup of his wrath, and shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the sight of the Holy Angels, and in the sight of the Lamb [of God].  And the smoke of their torments shall ascend up for ever and ever:  neither have they rest day nor night, who have adored the beast, and his image, and whoever receiveth the character of his name” (Apocalypse 14:9-11).

“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet, who wrought signs before him, wherewith he seduced them who received the character of the beast, and who adored his image.  These two were cast alive into the pool of fire, burning with brimstone” (Apocalypse 19:20).

“And there came down fire from God out of Heaven, and devoured them; and the Devil, who seduced them, was cast into the pool of fire and brimstone, where both the beast and the false prophet shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Apocalypse 20:9-10).

“And I saw a great White Throne [of blinding white light], and One sitting upon it, from whose Face the earth and heaven fled away, and there was no place found for them.  And I saw the dead, great and small, standing in the presence of the Throne, and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life; and the dead were judged by those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hell gave up their dead that were in them; and they were judged every one according to their works.  And hell and death were cast into the pool of fire.  This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life, was cast into the pool of fire” (Apocalypse 20:11-15).

And yet the Modernist Heretics and Apostates and the NEW Theology Theologian Heretics and Apostates go around telling their lies that:
“God is not in the punishment business.”
and that yet, somehow:
“The church makes the rules (laws), so the church can change the rules (laws).”

The Apostate Heretics want All Catholics
To disbelieve the Sacred Scriptures and Sacred Tradition,
But yet to Believe their Apostate and Heretical Lies!

Here are a few more examples of apostate heretical lies, some of which include one or more fallacies:

“If it feels good do it.”

“God is in the forgiveness business.”

“God is not in the guilt business.”

“God is not in the fear business.”

“God is in the love business.”

“Don’t put that guilt trip on me.”

“There is too much talk about God.”

“God sees no error in you, and certainly would never want to hurt you in anyway.”

“The Church needs to get rid of its divisive rules against abortion and pedophilia.”

“The dogmatic and moral teachings of the Church are not all equivalent and therefore they can be changed.”

“The Church sometimes locks itself up in small things with its small-minded rules.”

“Priests and Bishops do not need to speak out against abortion and pedophiles.”

“No one should judge the sexual orientation of Priests and Prelates, as long as they are searching for God and have good will.”

“It is wrong to say that homosexual acts are ‘intrinsically disordered’.”

“Public opinion and everyday arbitrary social trends must dictate the course of Church doctrines which can always be changed and updated to be in harmony with modern society.”

“Priests and Bishops must always compromise Traditional Moral Values in order to attract huge masses of people to the Church.”

“The Church must get rid of the Sacrament of Penance.”

“Always tell the people only what they want to hear.”

“Sermons must never be about Hell, Purgatory, Sin, punishment, mortification, prayer, and amendment of life.”

“Always compromise and abandon all Doctrines and Morals in favor of ‘tolerance’ and ‘brotherly love’.”

“This is the 21st Century, not the 13th Century.”

“The Church must never punish its pedophile - homosexual - Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, and Priests because such punishment would be a terrible crime and a horrible sin against ‘tolerance’ and ‘brotherly love’ since this kind of action is blatant discrimination against the poor Pedophiles who were born that way.  God and Pope Francis I love everyone including the homosexual pedophiles.”

That the Catholic Traditional Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
was destroyed is attested by one who was partly responsible for doing it:

Father Joseph Gelineau S.J.

Now “the New Mass is a different liturgy. This needs to be said without ambiguity. The Roman Rite, as we knew it, no longer exists.  It has been DESTROYED!”  (Father Joseph Gelineau S.J. [b. at Champ-sur-Layon, Maine-et-Loire, West-Central France, on Sunday, October 31, 1920 - d. at Sallanches, a commune in the Haute-Savoie  department in the Rhône-Alps, South-Eastern France, on Friday, August 8, 2008].   He was a Synod Vatican 2 “peritus” - expert - who helped to make up the NOR along with other anti-Catholics and the 6 Protestants.  He was, of course, a professional apologist for the NOR.  This quotation is from his book - “Demain La Liturgk”, Paris, 1976, pp. 9-10; emphasis added).

Do you remember what happens to those who CHANGE or DESTROY what God Himself has immutably instituted?

For Those Who Need A Clue:

“Nadab and Abiu died before their father.”
(1 Paralipomenon 24:2)

“And Nadab and Abiu, the Sons of Aaron, taking their censers, put fire therein, and incense on it, offering before the Lord strange fire: which was not commanded them.   And fire coming out from the Lord destroyed them:  and they died before the Lord” (Leviticus 10:1-2).

So God IS in the “punishment business” after all!  God will punish the Priests of the New Covenant Law more severely than the Priests of the Old Covenant Law which had only the shadow of the good things to come.

Hence, those Popes, Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, Priests, who have changed the Liturgical Rites for Offering the Catholic Traditional Mass, and/or for Administering the Seven Sacraments, as they were before 1944, now know what to expect when they are prostrate before the feet of the Just Judge, Jesus Christ.

“But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be among you lying teachers, who shall bring in sects of perdition, and deny the Lord who bought them: bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their riotousnesses, through whom the way of Truth shall be evil spoken of.  And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you. Whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their perdition slumbereth not.  For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but delivered them, drawn down by infernal ropes to the lower Hell, unto torments, to be reserved unto judgment...   The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly from temptation, but to reserve the unjust unto the Day of Judgment to be tormented. And especially them who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness” (2 Peter 2:1-4; 2:9-10; emphasis added).

Saint Paul

Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the [Apostolic] Traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by Our Epistle.” (2 Thessalonians 2:14; emphasis added).

“We charge you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother walking disorderly, and not according to the [Apostolic] Tradition which they have received of Us.(2 Thessalonians 3:6; emphasis added).

Bishop Saint Isidore of Seville

“Heresy is so-called from the Greek word meaning ‘choice’, by which each chooses according to his own will what he pleases to teach or believe. So, even if an Angel from Heaven should preach otherwise, he shall be called anathema”  (Bishop Saint Isidore of Seville [b. Cartagena, Spain 560 A.D. - d. Seville, Spain, 636 A.D.], Bishop of Seville, Doctor of the Catholic Church, ETYMOLOGIES, 8, 3; emphasis added).

Roman Catholic Council of Trent

“Canon 6.  If anyone says that the Canon [of the Ancient Roman Rite] of the Mass contains errors and is therefore to be abrogated, let him be anathema” (Roman Catholic Council of Trent, Session 22, Monday, September 17, 1562, On the Sacrifice of the Mass, Canon 6; emphasis added).  (N.B.:  The word “anathema” is a juridical term which means INSTANT and AUTOMATIC excommunication “latæ sententiæ”.)

“Canon 9. If anyone says that the [Ancient Roman] Rite of the Roman Church...is to be condemned...let him be anathema” (Roman Catholic Council of Trent, Session 22, Monday, September 17, 1562, On the Sacrifice of the Mass, Canon 9; emphasis added).

On the contrary, “...the Holy Canon [of the Ancient Roman Rite of the Catholic Traditional Mass]... is so free from error that it contains nothing that does not in the highest degree savor of a certain holiness and piety and raise up to God the minds of those who offer [it]....”  (Roman Catholic Council of Trent, Session 22, Monday, September 17, 1562, On the Sacrifice of the Mass, Chapter 4; emphasis added).

“1. And to the Angel [Bishop] of the Church of Sardis, write:  These things saith He, that hath the Seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars:  I know thy works, that thou hast the name of being alive:  and thou art dead.
2    Be watchful and strengthen the things that remain, which are ready to die.  For I find not thy works full before My God.
3    Have in mind therefore in what manner thou hast received and heard:  and observe, and do penance.  If then thou shalt not watch, I will come to thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know at what hour I will come to thee.
4    But thou hast a few names in Sardis, which have not defiled their garments:  and they shall walk with Me in white, because they are worthy.
5    He that shall overcome, shall thus be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name out of the Book of Life, and I will confess his name before My Father, and before His Angels.
6    He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the Churches” (Apocalypse 3:1-6).

“Amen.  Come, Lord Jesus.  The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.  Amen.”  (Apocalypse 22:20-21).

Prayerfully and Wisely Choose One of These Two Doors:

The Door of Sacred Tradition helps one to go to Heaven.
The Door of Change helps one to go to Hell.

The Catholic Church
Preserves Sacred Tradition and Condemns Change

Bishop Saint Irenæus

This preaching [kerygma] and this faith the Church, although scattered over the whole world, diligently observes, as if it occupied but one house, and believes as if it had but one mind. The Church preaches [kerygma] and teaches as if it had but one mouth. And although there are many languages in the world, the meaning of the [Sacred Apostolic] Tradition is one and the same(Bishop Saint Irenæus [b. Proconsular Asia c. 130 A.D. - d. Lyons, France either on Monday, June 28, or Monday, August 23, in about 202 A.D.], Bishop of Lyons, Father of the Catholic Church.  He was a Disciple of Bishop Saint Polycarp [c. 69 A.D. - d. martyred on Saturday, February 23, 166 A.D.]. Saint Polycarp, in turn, was a Disciple of Saint John the Apostle, Evangelist and author of the Apocalypse [b.  ?  A.D. - d. Ephesus, c. 101 A.D.], who made Saint Polycarp the Bishop of Smyrna.  Saint Polycarp is an Apostolic Father of the Catholic Church.  This quotation is from Bishop Saint Irenæus, “Against the Heresies”, {written 180 A.D. - 199 A.D.}, Book I, chapter 10, ¶ 2; emphasis added).

Patriarch Saint Athanasius

Let us note that the very Tradition, Teaching, and Faith of the Catholic Church from the beginning, which the Lord gave, was preached by the Apostles, and was preserved by the Fathers. On this was the Church founded; and if anyone departs from this, he neither is, nor any longer ought to be called, a Christian”  (Patriarch Saint Athanasius [b. Alexandria, Egypt 296 A.D. - d. Alexandria, Egypt on Wednesday, May 2, 373A.D.], Patriarch of Alexandria, Egypt, Father of Orthodoxy in the Catholic Church, Letter to Serapion of Thumis, 359 A.D.; emphasis added).

Catholicus Saint Basil the Great

Dogmas of Faith cannot be changed one jot or tittle.”

(Catholicus Saint Basil the Great [b. Caesarea, Cappadocia 329 A.D. - d. Caesarea, Cappadocia on Monday, January 1, 379 A.D.]. His Mother was Emmelia, the Daughter of a holy martyr.  He was the Catholicus of Caesarea, Metropolitan Archbishop of Cappadocia, Exarch of Pontus, Superior of fifty Chorepiscopi [Sunday, June 14, 370 A.D. - Monday, January 1, 379 A.D.], Doctor of the Catholic Church, “De Spiritu Sancto”, Chapter 1, ¶ 2; emphasis added).

Pope Pius VI

[The Ancient Doctors] knew the capacity of innovators in the art of deception. In order not to shock the ears of Catholics, they sought to hide the subtleties of their tortuous maneuvers by the use of seemingly innocuous words such as would allow them to insinuate error into souls in the most gentle manner.”

Once the Truth had been compromised, they could, by means of slight changes or additions in phraseology, distort the confession of the Faith which is necessary for our salvation, and lead the faithful by subtle errors to their eternal damnation.

This manner of dissimulating and lying is vicious, regardless of the circumstances under which it is used. For very good reasons it can never be tolerated in a Synod of which the principal glory consists above all in teaching the Truth with clarity and excluding all danger of error.

“Moreover, if all this is sinful, it cannot be excused in the way that one sees it being done, under the erroneous pretext that the seemingly shocking affirmations in one place are further developed along orthodox lines in other places, and even in yet other places corrected; as if allowing for the possibility of either affirming or denying the statement, or of leaving it up the personal inclinations of the individual – such has always been the fraudulent and daring method used by innovators to establish error. It allows for both the possibility of promoting error and of excusing it.

It is as if the innovators pretended that they always intended to present the alternative passages, especially to those of simple faith who eventually come to know only some part of the conclusions of such discussions which are published in the common language for everyone's use.
“Or again, as if the same faithful had the ability on examining such documents to judge such matters for themselves without getting confused and avoiding all risk of error. It is a most reprehensible technique for the insinuation of doctrinal errors and one condemned long ago by our predecessor Saint Celestine who found it used in the writings of Nestorius, Bishop of Constantinople, and which he exposed in order to condemn it with the greatest possible severity. Once these texts were examined carefully,
the impostor was exposed and confounded, for he expressed himself in a plethora of words, mixing true things with others that were obscure; mixing at times one with the other in such a way that he was also able to confess those things which were denied while at the same time possessing a basis for denying those very sentences which he confessed.”
“In order to expose such snares, something which becomes necessary with a certain frequency in every Century, no other method is required than the following:

“WHENEVER IT BECOMES NECESSARY TO EXPOSE STATEMENTS WHICH DISGUISE SOME SUSPECTED ERROR OR DANGER UNDER THE VEIL OF AMBIGUITY, ONE MUST DENOUNCE THE PERVERSE MEANING UNDER WHICH THE ERROR OPPOSED TO CATHOLIC TRUTH IS CAMOUFLAGED  (Pope Pius VI, Giovanni Angelo Braschi [Wednesday, February 15, 1775 - Thursday, August 29, 1799], using his Infallible Ordinary Magisterium, Promulgated his Encyclical “Auctorem Fidei,” Thursday, August 28, 1794, ¶ 6; emphasis added).

Pope Gregory XVI

“You correctly understand, Venerable Brothers, that We speak here also of that erroneous philosophical system which was recently brought in and is clearly to be condemned.

This system, which comes from the contemptible and unrestrained desire for innovation, does not seek Truth where it stands in the received and Holy Apostolic Inheritance. Rather, other empty doctrines, futile and uncertain doctrines not approved by the Church, are adopted. Only the most conceited men wrongly think that these teachings can sustain and support that truth(Pope Gregory XVI, Bartolomeo Alberto-Mauro-Cappellari [Wednesday, February 2, 1831 - Monday, June 1, 1846], using his Infallible Ordinary Magisterium, Promulgated his Encyclical “Singulari Nos”,  On the Errors of Lammenais, Wednesday, June 25, 1834, ¶ 8; emphasis Added).

Pope Leo XIII

“The underlying principle of these NEW opinions is that, in order to more easily attract those who differ from her, the Church should shape her teachings more in accord with the spirit of the age and relax some of her ancient severity and make some concessions to new opinions. Many think that these concessions should be made not only in regard to ways of living, but even in regard to Doctrines which belong to the Deposit of the Faith. They contend that it would be opportune, in order to gain those who differ from us, to omit certain points of her teaching which are of lesser importance, and to tone down the meaning which the Church has always attached to them. It does not need many words, beloved son, to prove the falsity of these ideas if the nature and origin of the Doctrine which the Church proposes are recalled to mind.”

The [First] Vatican Council says concerning this point:

‘For the Doctrine of Faith which God has revealed has not been proposed, like a philosophical invention to be perfected by human ingenuity, but has been delivered as a Divine Deposit to the Spouse of Christ to be faithfully kept and infallibly declared.

‘Hence that meaning of the Sacred Dogmas is perpetually to be retained which our Holy Mother, the Church, has once declared, nor is that meaning ever to be departed from under the pretense or pretext of a deeper comprehension of them’ - [Vatican 1] Constitutio de Fide Catholica, Chapter IV”

(Pope Leo XIII, Gioacchino Vincenzo Pecci [Wednesday, February 20, 1878 - Monday, July 20, 1903], using his Infallible Ordinary Magisterium, Promulgated his Encyclical, which Condemned the Heresy of Americanism, “Testem Benevolentiæ Nostræ”, Concerning NEW Opinions, Virtue, Nature and Grace, with Regard to Americanism, Sunday, January 22, 1899, To Our Beloved Son, James Cardinal Gibbons, Cardinal Priest of the Title Sancta Maria, Beyond the Tiber, Archbishop of Baltimore, ¶ 3 and ¶ 4; emphasis added).

Some of Our web pages are the only places on the Internet where you will find some very important facts,  because some of these facts are from Our own many personal experiences,     as well as the result of Our meetings with many Catholic Traditional Clergy including various Patriarchs, Cardinals, Primates, Metropolitans, Archbishops, Bishops, and Religious and Secular Priests, over many, many, many decades,    plus    Our own eye-witness testimony,   concerning   some of the many, many, many changes, which began many, many, many decades,   before the many, many, many younger generations of Catholics were even born,   and    of which changes all of these so many, many younger generations of Catholics,   have no personal knowledge and/or personal experiences.

Most of these many changes    are not only   illegal,  but they are also   invalid,  and   most of them include the censure of  automatic excommunication of the perpetrators,  because, in reality, such changes by the cabal of   automatically excommunicated Innovators,   as well as   the secret gangs   of anti-Catholic Infiltrators,    are changes which are  anti-Catholic!
