“One day, through the Rosary and the Scapular, I will
save the world.”
Prophecy of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Saint Dominic about the Rosary and Scapular [1208 A.D.]
Every Roman Catholic who knows what the Roman Catholic Church has always taught is aware of the fact that it is a Mortal Sin to miss attending the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on all Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation. Also well-known is the requirement to make one's Easter Duty.
Persecution of Roman Catholics
However, historically, this has not always been possible due to various problems, including various kinds of persecutions.
Since 1944, when the Psalter of Saint Jerome was thrown out, and later in the years following, including the additional changes to the Missal in 1960 (rubrics) and 1962 (insertion of St. Joseph into the Canon, etc.), plus the aftermath of Synod Vatican 2 [Thursday, October 11, 1962 - Wednesday, December 8, 1965], history has repeated itself as it first did during the time of the Arian Heresy when the Arian Heretics possessed the physical buildings of the Church.
Today, it is instructive to know what Catholics, who were Faithful to their Holy Catholic Faith in the 4th Century, A.D., did in those days of great confusion and even persecution, as well as in Japan, and also in the Ukraine.
Persecution by Arian Heretics
“May God console you! ... What saddens you ... is the fact that others have occupied the Churches by violence, while during this time you are on the outside. It is a fact that they have the premises -- but you have the Apostolic Faith. They [the heretics and apostates] can occupy our churches, but they are outside the True Faith. You remain outside the places of worship, but the Faith dwells within you. Let us consider: what is more important, the place or the Faith? The True Faith, obviously. Who has lost and who has won in this struggle -- the one who keeps the premises or the one who keeps the Faith?”
“True, the premises are good when the Apostolic Faith is preached there; they are Holy if everything takes place there in a Holy way ...”
“You are the ones who are happy; you who remain within the [Catholic] Church by your Faith, who hold firmly to the foundations of the Faith which has come down to you from Apostolic Tradition, and if an execrable jealously has tried to shake it in a number of occasions, it has not succeeded. They are the ones who have broken away from it in the present crisis.”
“No one, ever, will prevail against your Faith, beloved brothers, and We believe that God will give us our Churches back some day.”
“Thus, the more violently they try to occupy the places of worship, the more they separate themselves from the [Catholic] Church. They claim that they represent the Church but in reality they are the ones who are expelling themselves from it and going astray.”
“Even if Catholics faithful to Tradition are reduced to a handful, they are the ones who are the true Church of Jesus Christ.” (Patriarch Saint Athanasius [b. Alexandria, Egypt 296 A.D. - d. Alexandria, Egypt on Wednesday, May 2, 373A.D.], Patriarch of Alexandria, Egypt, Father of Orthodoxy in the Catholic Church, “Coll. Selecta SS. Eccl. Patrum.”, Caillu and Guillou, Volume 32, pp 411-412; emphasis added).
“Though Nobunaga, on account of his passions, was far from embracing Christianity, he often declared his admiration for it and showed himself favorable to those who taught it. Under his government the Catholic Church counted in Japan as many as 200,000 members and 250 churches; three daimios sent an embassy to the Supreme Pontiff.”
“But his life was cut short by death in 1582. His successor was the first persecutor of the Christians. His name was Hideyoshi.”
In July, 1596, “on his [Hideyoshi] order at once a list was drawn up of all the Japanese who were in relation with the missioners. The most pitiful episode of this persecution was the crucifixion of twenty-six Christians, priests and laymen, in the city of Nagasaki.”
[Editor’s Note: Perhaps this was the reason why one of the atom bombs the U.S. dropped on Japan during WWII was at Nagasaki - the wrath of God for the 1596 persecution of Catholics by Hideyoshi, especially these 26 crucifixions of Catholics?]“They endured martyrdom, with admirable courage. Among them were many children.... Hideyoshi’s rigors were merely the prelude of a more general and terrible persecution, which broke out in 1614....”
“The shogun Ieyasu ordered the banishment of all the missioners, the demolition of all the churches, the apostasy of all the Christians under pain of death. ‘The number of victims was much greater than that of the persecutions against the Christians of the Roman Empire: it rose to 30,000 in the single year 1624, and the atrocity of the sufferings surpassed all that Eusebius relates about the martyrdoms of the Christians of Egypt under Maximin and Decius.’ [Footnote # 35: Bœhmer, Op. cit., p. 164.] In 1640 the following announcement was made known to the public: ‘So long as the sun warms the earth, let no Christian be so bold as to come to Japan!’.... Even the natives could not, under pain of death, leave their country or return to it if they had gone out. The effect of these measures was to close Japan to Europe for more than two centuries.” (Rev. Fernand Mourret, S.S., “A History of the Catholic Church”, Translated by the Rev. Newton Thompson, S.T.D., Volume Six, Period of the Ancient Regime, Part I, The Catholic Renaissance, Chapter VI, The Foreign Missions, pp. 196, 198-199; emphasis added.)
Nevertheless, some Roman Catholics preserved the Holy Faith. When Japan was once again fully opened to Roman Catholic Missionaries, the Missionaries were surprised to find that the Catholic Faith had been preserved in the Catacombs in Japan for several centuries without the benefit and help of any Priests.
The first return of Roman Catholic Missionaries, after their total explusion several centuries before then, is also recounted by Father Mourrett, S.S.:
“At that time the empire of Japan was still systematically closed to foreigners. The Russians, English, and Americans had already tried to penetrate at Yeddo and Nagasaki, and had been refused admittance. Long and trying negotiations, carried on perseveringly by admirals Cécille and Guérin, concluded with the authorization given to the missioners to buy a little house at Nafa. But the work of evangelization seemed to be no further advanced.”
“Nevertheless Father Forcade was able to make some reassuring observations. The Japanese people seemed to him to be a gentle people, kindly disposed, polite, intelligent, desiring to enter into relations with the Europeans; he even had serious reasons for believing so, after certain indications that a group of Christians subsisted in Japan in hiding [i.e. in the Catacombs].” (Rev. Fernand Mourret, S.S., “A History of the Catholic Church”, Translated by the Rev. Newton Thompson, S.T.D., Volume Eight, Period of the Early Nineteenth Century, (1823 - 1878), Chapter XXIII, Gregory XVI And The Foreign Missions, Japan, p. 363; emphasis added.)
A Lesson for Roman Catholics Today
What did the Roman Catholics in Japan do to preserve their Catholic Faith for over two centuries with the benefit of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Seven Sacraments?
This is certainly a lesson today for the vast majority of Roman Catholics who, while refusing to go to the .Satanic..Synod Vatican 2 pseudo-church..of the anti-christ anti-church, a.k.a. the .Satanic..Synod Vatican 2 pseudo-church, with its headquarters in Vatican City, Rome, Italy, seem confused as to what they can and must otherwise do to save their Immortal Souls.
We recall reading somewhere many, many years ago now, in a source We have unfortunately forgotten, how the Roman Catholics in Japan stayed home and prayed the prayers of the Mass as best they could, whether from various prayer books or missals, especially on all Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation.
They also taught their Children the Catholic Faith, whether with Catechisms, or verbally, as best they could remember from what they had been taught.
In addition, they also used the emergency procedure for Baptism.
This is what all Roman Catholics should do today IF their Children or Relatives or Friends - or even they themselves, - have been "initiated" into the the .Satanic..Synod Vatican 2 pseudo-church.. of the anti-christ, anti-church, a.k.a. the .Satanic..Synod Vatican 2 pseudo-church, with the Satanic sacrament called the Rite for the Christian Initiation of Infants, -
by any one the automatically excommunicated Modernist Heretics, and the automatically excommunicated NEW Theology Theologian Heretics, who are also automatically excommunicated Apostates from the Roman Catholic Church, otherwise known as deacons, presidents of the assembly - who are called Priests in the Roman Catholic Church, or bishops, of whatever ranks of ecclesiastical jurisdiction -which was approved for use on Wednesday, March 19, 1969. This Satanic Innovation was required to be used beginning on Monday, June 1, 1970.
The Sacrament of Baptism in the Catacombs
Pre-Vatican 2 Roman Catholic Catechisms should have the instructions of how to do an emergency Baptism.
Using plain, clean water, slowly pour the water, three times, each time in the form of a cross, on the forehead of the infant, child, or adult to be Baptized, saying, while pouring this water:
N.N. (Two Baptismal Names of pre-Vatican 2 Saints), I Baptize you in the name of the Father, + (pour the water in the sign of the Cross the first time), and of the Son, + (pour the water in the sign of the Cross the second time), and of the Holy + (pour the water in the sign of the Cross the third time) Ghost.IF there is a doubt as to whether or not the infant, child, or adult to be Baptized may possibly have previously been Baptized, or IF the validity of the previous Baptism is of concern, follow this procedure for a Conditional Baptism:
N.N. (Two Baptismal Names of pre-Vatican 2 Saints), IF you are not Baptized, I Baptize you in the name of the Father, + (pour the water in the sign of the Cross the first time), and of the Son, + (pour the water in the sign of the Cross the second time), and of the Holy + (pour the water in the sign of the Cross the third time) Ghost.
NOTE: In the U.S.A., the usual procedure in many (possibly all?) States is that the Couple to be legally married must obtain a legal document known as a Marriage License at their local county court house. In addition to paying the fee for this document, IF possible, the Couple to be married should also request that the person in charge of such legal marriages, legally marry them at the same time.
In this way, any possible future problems or questions as to whether or not the Couple was legally married will be completely avoided. Also make sure to obtain the signed and sealed document attesting to the fact that the Couple was legally married at such and such a place, on such and such a time, and also the month, day, and year, etc., etc.
Then, if possible, later that same day, or at least within a few days shortly thereafter, the legally married Couple should Administer the Sacrament of Matrimony to each other.
In the Roman Catholic Church, theologically, it is the Couple themselves who Administer the Sacrament of Matrimony to each other. The Priest or Prelate is the Official Witness.
Therefore, Couples can and should Administer the Sacrament of Matrimony to each other in the Catacombs IF it is not possible to find a real validly Ordained Roman Catholic Priest or a real validly Consecrated Roman Catholic Bishop to be the Official Witness.
Unlike during the civil, legal marriage ceremony, the Couple should dress, as much as possible, in the Traditional Wedding Attire. In the U.S.A., this includes the Groom wearing a tuxedo, along with everything that goes with it, while the Bride should wear a Bridal Gown, along with everything that goes with it, whenever financially possible. Most Couples today rent these things. The Couple can invite relatives and others to witness the Administration of the Sacrament of Matrimony and can also have the usual Wedding Reception afterwards, usually with Wedding Gifts given to the Bridal Couple.
The Catholic Traditional Rituale Romanum of 1925 is totally in Latin, both the rubrics and the text. However, in the attached 1944 Supplement, at the end of the 1925 edition of the Rituale Romanum, for the Use of the Clergy of the United States of America, which was printed in 1944, Imprimatur, New York, Feast of Corpus Christi, 1944, + Francis J. Spellman, Archbishop of New York, all of the rubrics are in English, with the text all in Latin except for the text to be used by the Bride and Groom, which is in English. A slight adaptation is made in what follows because there is no Priest or Prelate as the Official Witness.
Here is what the Bride and Groom do and say:
The Couple Stands and Face Each Other:
The Bridegroom Gives His Complete Consent to Marry His Bride:
The Bridegroom says in a clear, distinct, and audible voice to his Bride:
YES, I, N.N. (First and last name of the Bridegroom), DO take thee, N.N. (First and last maiden name of Bride), here present, for my lawful Wife.
The Bride Gives Her Complete Consent to Marry Her Bridegroom:
The Bride says in a clear, distinct, and audible voice to her Bridegroom:
I, N.N. (First and last maiden name
of the Bride), DO take thee, N.N.
(First and last name of Bridegroom), here
present, for my lawful Husband.
The Couple Stands Side-by-Side and,
With their Right Hands Joined Together,
The Couple Pledges Their Mutual Fidelity to Each Other:
The Bridegroom Pledges His Total Fidelity to His Bride:
The Bridegroom says in a clear, distinct, and audible voice to his Bride:
I, N.N.(First and last name of Bridegroom), take thee, N.N.(First and last maiden name of Bride), here present, for my lawful Wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.
The Bride Pledges Her Total Fidelity to Her Bridegroom:
The Bride says in a clear, distinct, and audible voice to her Bridegroom:
I, N.N.(First and last maiden name of Bride), take thee, N.N.(First and last name of Bridegroom), here present, for my lawful Husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.
The Ring for the Bride:
The Bridegroom gently places the Bride’s ring on the ring finger of his Wife’s left hand, saying:
With this ring I thee wed, and I plight unto thee my troth.
IF the Bridegroom also has a Ring:
The Bride gently places the Bridegrooms’s ring on the ring finger of her Husband’s left hand, saying:
With this ring I thee wed, and I plight unto thee my troth.
Persecution in the Ukraine
During the previous century, according to various sources, somewhere between 7 million to 12 million Ukrainian men, women and children, many of them Catholics, were starved to death by the atheist Russian Communist Stalin during the 1930's.
Have you ever read the book, or perhaps seen the movie, “The Shoes of the Fisherman”? Are you familiar with the term “Ostpolitik”?
“Ostpolitik” (German for “Eastern Politics”) describes the politics of the “Change Through Rapprochement” principle which Communist Russian leader Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev [b. in Kalinovka, Russian Empire, on Tuesday, April 17, 1894 - d. in Moscow, Russia, Soviet Union on Saturday, September 11, 1971] offered the Vatican on the occasion of the 80th birthday of 2nd Pope John 23, Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli [Tuesday, October 28, 1958 - Monday, June 3, 1963] on Sunday, November 25, 1962. Since that time, the Popes have become very cozy with the Communists.
Even the movie “The Shoes of the Fisherman”, released to the public on Thursday, November 14, 1968, starring Laurence Olivier as the fictional Russian leader Piotr Ilyich Kamenev (in reality, Nikita Khrushchev) and Anthony Quinn as Metropolitan Archbishop Kiril Pavlovich Lakota, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Lviv, Ukraine, who is unexpectedly set free after twenty years in a Siberian labor camp and sent to Rome, where the elderly fictional Pope Pius XIII raises him to the Cardinalate in the title of St. Athanasius (The novel has him as a bearded Ukrainian, but the movie has him as Russian.), is a classical example of Ostpolitik. Why?
Because, just as the fictional Metropolitan Archbishop Kiril Pavlovich Lakota is released by the Russian Communist leader from a Siberian Gulag, so also his real-life counter-part, the bearded Ukrainian Metropolitan Archbishop of Lviv, Ukraine, the Ukrainian Catholic Cardinal, Patriarch Josyf Slipyj, was likewise released by Russian Communist Nikita Khrushchev from a Siberian Gulag in 1963, the year of the novel’s publication, after political pressure from United States President John F. Kennedy.
Although real-life Patriarch Kyr Josyf Cardinal Slipyj [b. Zazdrist, Wednesday, February 17, 1892 - d. Rome, Friday, September 7, 1984] arrived in Rome in time to participate in Synod Vatican 2, he was forbidden to speak against Communism. Synod Vatican 2 never condemned Communism despite its vicious persecution of millions of Catholic Ukrainians under Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin [b. in Gori, Georgia, Russian Empire on Wednesday, December 18, 1878 - d. in Moscow, Russia, Soviet Union on Thursday, March 5, 1953] in the 1930's.
While living in Rome, especially attending Synod Vatican 2, the Ukrainian Catholic Cardinal, Patriarch Josyf Slipyj became aware that the Pope and some Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, etc., were trying to destroy the Catholic Church. This became even more clear to him when His Beatitude secretly Consecrated a number of Bishops and sent them into the Ukraine to Ordain Priests. The Communist persecution had killed off all of the 10 Ukrainian Uniate Catholic Prelates except for the Patriarch, not to mention many of the Ukrainian Uniate Catholic Priests.
The Vatican got wind of this and Pope Paul 6 demanded a list of all of the names of the secretly Consecrated Bishops. The Patriarch reluctantly complied. Within less than one year, the Communist KGB had killed all of them.
Just like Patriarch Saint Athanasius, the Ukrainian Catholic Cardinal, Patriarch Josyf Slipyj, in a letter to his people, wrote:
“...Catholic Ukrainians, who have sacrificed mountains of bodies and shed rivers of their blood for the Catholic Faith...even now are undergoing a very terrible persecution, but what is worse, they are defended by no one... our Catholic Faithful, prohibited from celebrating the Liturgy and receiving the Sacraments, must descend into the Catacombs. Thousands and thousands of the Faithful, of Priests and Bishops have been thrown into prison and deported to the polar regions of Siberia. Now, however, because of negotiations and diplomacy, Ukrainian Catholics, who as martyrs and confessors suffered so much, are being thrown aside as inconvenient witnesses of past evils.”
“In recent letters and communications which I have received, our Faithful lament: ‘Why have we suffered so much? Where is justice to be found? Ecclesiastical diplomacy has labeled us as impediments. Cardinal Slipyj does nothing for his Church.’”
“And I answer: ‘What can I do?...’ When Pimen, the Patriarch of Moscow, in an electoral Synod openly declared that the Union of Brest was annulled, not one of the Vatican delegates present protested... One of the eminent Cardinals here expressed astonishment that the Ukrainians, who have been treated so badly and unjustly have, nevertheless, remained Catholic...” (Patriarch Kyr Josyf Cardinal Slipyj [b. Zazdrist, Wednesday, February 17, 1892 - d. Rome, Friday, September 7, 1984], VISTI Y RYMU, Rik 9, nos. 16-17, Rome, December 1971; emphasis added.)
Today, because of the .Satanic..Synod Vatican 2 pseudo-church.. of the anti-christ anti-church, a.k.a. the .Satanic..Synod Vatican 2 pseudo-church, almost all Roman Catholics, who are faithful to the unchangeable Catholic Faith, Mass, and Sacraments, have no place to go to attend what is - theologically, historically, and ecclesiastically - a real and valid Catholic Traditional Mass Offered by a real and valid Roman Catholic Traditional Priest or Prelate.
Because God does not require anyone to do the impossible, What Catholics MUST DO When Valid Masses & Sacraments are Not Available is to do what is possible.
What is Possible?
1. IF you have a pre-Vatican 2 Missal, read the prayers of the Mass in that Missal, in your own residence, on every Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation.
IF you do not have a pre-Vatican 2 Missal, you will find the Ordinary of the Mass at:Another option is to devoutely say the Traditional Holy Rosary with the Traditional 15 Decades. These 15 Decades of 150 Hail Mary's represent the 150 Psalms.
This was the custom in the early part of the 20th Century if a person did not have a Missal or a Prayer Book from which to read. Those who could not read, for whatever reason(s), could also say the Rosary during the Holy Sacrifice of Mass.
We have been informed that the Rosary is forbidden
to be said during the NEW mass! Yet another subtle attack against
Tradition and also Our Blessed Mother.
My Jesus, I believe that Thou art really present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I love Thee above all things and I desire to possess Thee within my soul. Since I am unable now to receive Thee Sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace Thee as being already there, and I unite myself wholly to Thee; never, never permit me to be separated from Thee. Amen.
A Perfect Act of Contrition is sorrow for sin because of offending God, not because of the punishments due to actual sins.
